Karlin Oasis 2-Bedroom Apartment Overview

You know what struck me first about the Karlin Oasis? The name actually makes sense – and I mean that in the best way possible. Walking up Sokolovská Street, you’re in this sort of transitional Prague neighborhood that’s not quite touristy Old Town but definitely not residential either, and then you duck into this building and suddenly it’s like… well, an oasis.

The apartment itself is honestly bigger than I expected from the photos. Two proper bedrooms, which is rare in Prague unless you’re paying through the nose, and the living space has this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. The kitchen’s actually functional too – I made coffee every morning and even attempted some basic meals with groceries from the Tesco just down the street. The whole place has that authentic Prague apartment feel, you know? High ceilings, those gorgeous old windows that let in tons of light, but with modern touches that actually work. No trying to figure out some ancient European shower situation here.

Location-wise, Karlin’s having this moment right now. It’s like Prague’s version of a neighborhood that’s cool but hasn’t figured out it’s cool yet. You’re maybe fifteen minutes on the metro to get to the main tourist spots – Wenceslas Square, the castle, all that – but honestly some of my best meals were within walking distance. There’s this incredible Vietnamese place called Pho Vietnam just a few blocks away that locals line up for, and the whole area has these little wine bars and cafés that feel genuinely Czech rather than designed for tourists with cameras. The tram connections are solid too, which matters when you’re hauling luggage or just tired from walking around all day.

I will say the street can get a bit busy during rush hour – Sokolovská’s kind of a main artery – but the apartment faces away from most of the noise, and honestly after 8 PM it quiets down completely. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that “meet us at this random café with exact change” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals. The whole experience felt… I don’t know, trustworthy? Like someone actually thought about what travelers need rather than just throwing together a space and hoping for the best. That 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place where everything works like it should, the location gives you options, and you’re not paying Old Town prices for the privilege. If you want to experience Prague like someone who actually lives there, rather than bouncing between tourist traps, this is your spot.

    The owner of the property reached out to check what time we would be arriving, then was at the property to greet us, hand over the keys and assisted with our luggage up to the apartment. Gary also gave us a quick tour and explanation of how to get the most out of our stay. I liked that we felt safe, we were close to the Metro, trams, a Supermarket, a bottle shop and eateries, all in all it was great and the apartment comfy.

    What could be improved: Occasionally I could hear the electric pallet jack unloading the Lidel goods from the truck but this is really nit picking as it was not a biggy

    Location, public transportation and area were perfect. Shopping for food at local supermarket next door. Restaurants nearby were great. Hosts were very attentive to our needs. Apartment had been fully renovated. Beds were very good.

    What could be improved: There was some issue with the bathroom fan which didn’t automatically switched off as expected. But no other problem at all.

    The location was ideal, tram stop 50 meters away, metro 10 min walk, and old town 15 – 20 min walk.

    We met Patrick on arrival who was very helpful throughout our stay. The apartment was exactly what we needed, somewhere to sleep and chill one evening. The rest of the time we were out exploring. The location is a bit further out than we have stayed on previous visits to Prague, but transport links are very good and the price reflected the distance, very reasonable.     A szállás szépen felújított, tiszta. Fürdőszoba, konyha felszereltsége kiváló. A tömegközlekedés, bevásárlási lehetőségek a közelben könnyen elérhetőek.

    What could be improved: A lakás nincs klimatizálva, ezért az utca felé ki kell nyitni az ablakokat. A ház előtt elhaladó sűrű villamosforgalom és közlekedési, rakodási zajok miatt az éjszakáink nem voltak túl pihentetőek… A második hálószobának nincs ablaka, elég levegőtlen, szerencsére volt egy álló ventillátorunk, így elfogadható volt.

Yra viskas ko reikia patogiam poilsiui: indai, įrankiai, buitinė technika, plaukų džiivintuvas, šampūnas, dušo žėlė, arbata, kava, cukrus, druska, prieskoniai, aliejus. Apartamentai labai patogioje strateginėje vietoje: pirmame aukšte LIDL, kitoj pusėje gatvės BILLA, kepyklėlė, aplink gausu kavinių, barų, restoranų ir mažų, ilgai dirbančių Marketų. Į apartamentus galima pakilti liftu. Vos už 3 min pėstute yra metro stotelė, tramvajaus stotelės taip pat prie pat. Automobilį galima statyti gatvėje. Mėlynojoje zonoje ( nubrėžtos mėlynos juostos) automobilį galima statyti savaigaliais ir darbo dienomis 20:00-8:00 nemokamai. Baltojoje zonoje visada mokama. Mokama programėle.
