Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Kaiserstein Palace Apartments? It’s not just that you’re staying in an actual baroque palace on Lesser Town Square – though that’s pretty incredible – it’s how the whole place manages to feel both grand and genuinely livable. I mean, you walk through these massive wooden doors (the kind that make you feel like you should announce yourself with a trumpet), and suddenly you’re in this beautifully restored space that somehow doesn’t intimidate you.
The apartments themselves are honestly impressive. Each one’s different since they’re carved out of original palace rooms, so you might get soaring ceilings with original frescoes or massive windows overlooking the square. The kitchens are actually functional – not those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely make coffee – and the furnishings strike this perfect balance between respecting the building’s history and, well, not making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. What I really appreciated was the attention to sound insulation; Prague’s old buildings can be echo chambers, but you won’t hear every footstep from the apartment above you here.
The location is where this place really shines, though locals might not thank me for saying it. You’re literally on Malostranské náměstí, which means Prague Castle is a five-minute walk uphill, and you can wander down to the Charles Bridge without dealing with the tram crowds from the New Town. Actually, here’s something most people don’t realize – early morning on Lesser Town Square is magical. The tour groups haven’t arrived yet, and you can grab coffee from one of the cafés and just… exist in this incredibly beautiful space without feeling like you’re performing tourism. The only downside (and it’s minor) is that parking is basically nonexistent right there – you’ll want to use one of the public garages a few blocks away. But honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is either walkable or easily reachable by Prague’s excellent public transport system. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out too, which makes a difference when you need recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots.

What could be improved: It would be great to have a mirror in both bathrooms, not just the one with the shower, and a full length mirror would be helpful, otherwise Perfect stay.Great apartment in great location – Hareide from Norway – 12 July 2025 (9/10)

We stayed at the Kaiserstein Palace, a remarkable historic building in a great location near Charles Bridge. The charm of the architecture added something special to our stay. The host was kind and helpful, and the price-quality ratio was excellent. Highly recommended!
Very comfortable stay in palatial surroundings – recommended! – Alison from Spain – 9 July 2025 (9/10)
The location is perfect and the building itself is very special – the grand sweeping staircase and huge vestibule! The 2 bedroom family apartment is amazing – spacious, luxurious and has almost everything you need. Bedlinen superb and the daily housekeeping an excellent service. Aircon worked very well. We really enjoyed our stay.
What could be improved: There were a few things missing – mirrors, something to cook on rather than a microwave, and it should really have an additional wc/bathroom. Bit of a mix-up in the beginning over our apartment but this was quickly resolved.Poor – Adrienn from United States – 1 July 2025 (3/10)
It was in a beautiful historic building and great central location in old town.
What could be improved: Our room did not match what was on the photos and the description. It was a king bed with 2 extra bed in one space. Instead of living room and bedroom.
