Ibis Praha Old Town Overview

You know what caught me off guard about the Ibis Praha Old Town? It’s actually tucked right into the thick of things on Na Poříčí, but somehow manages to feel like a proper retreat once you’re inside. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Powder Tower and maybe seven minutes to Old Town Square if you cut through the right streets – but the lobby has this surprisingly calm vibe that doesn’t scream “budget chain hotel” the way some Ibis properties do.

The location thing is honestly perfect if you’re the type who likes to wander. You’ve got that whole stretch of Náměstí Republiky right there, which locals use as a meeting point, and the Palladium shopping center is basically across the street if you need to grab anything (or escape Prague’s unpredictable weather). What I really appreciated though was how quiet the rooms stay despite being so central – they’ve got decent windows that actually block out most of the tram noise from Revoluční street. The rooms themselves are classic Ibis style, nothing fancy but everything works. The beds are surprisingly comfortable, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. I actually liked that they kept things simple rather than trying to fake luxury with cheap finishes.

Here’s what made the stay work for me: the breakfast situation is solid without being elaborate, and the staff genuinely knows the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady without taking the metro, the front desk guy gave me this whole walking route through Wenceslas Square that I never would’ve figured out on my own. Check-in was smooth even when I showed up early, and they stored my bags without any fuss. The 8.1 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it delivers on what matters. You’re paying for a clean, comfortable place to sleep in an absolutely prime location, and that’s exactly what you get. If you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring Prague rather than hanging out in your hotel room, this place just makes sense.

Reviews of Ibis Praha Old Town

  • Superb – Keli from United Kingdom – 20 July 2025 (9/10)

    Nice clean hotel good location

  • Great location with brilliant transport links – Werusca from United Kingdom – 20 July 2025 (9/10)

Really central location with great transport links; breakfast was very good and staff was very helpful. The bed was super comfortable.

What could be improved: My hotel room window looked on to another window so had to have the curtains pulled shut while in the room for privacy. I was mostly out so it didn’t matter so much.

  • Superb – Mariam from Australia – 7 July 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: 10/10 location, clean facilities. Everything you need for a hotel. Only negative was baggage storage didn’t feel very secure. Could just be what I am use to is getting a tag that needs to be presented to pick up however this was just a big storeroom usually with the door open and you could come and go as you please. I also understand with how busy it was why that is the case

  • Great – Donald from United States – 4 July 2025 (9/10)

    Great location

What could be improved: Room small

  • I would gladly stay there again. – Paul from Australia – 1 July 2025 (9/10)

This hotel ticked all the boxes for my visit. Its location was central to getting around either by foot or tram. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Lots of choices to eat to start the day. Highly recommended.

What could be improved: There were no downsides.

  • Superb – Shikha from India – 14 June 2025 (9/10)

Everything about the property is good.

What could be improved: I am not sure why the front desk guy asked to see my Visa.. You are supposed to ask only for the ID. Visa is for Immigration staff at the airport. It only happened in this ibis not anywhere else.

  • The stay was fantastic and we will get back. – Malgorzata from Poland – 12 June 2025 (9/10)

Breakfasts were excellent. Staff – superb.
They got me a bottle of wine free for my birthday!
    The room was cery quiet.
The location of the hotel can't be better!

What could be improved: I had problems with the internet connection.
It would be great if there was an electric kettle in the room and maybe a small fridge, too.
