Ibis Praha Old Town

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
Na Porici 5, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Ibis Praha Old Town, you immediately get that “I’m in the right place” feeling. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that’s refreshingly straightforward after wandering through Prague’s winding medieval streets. It’s a three-star property, but honestly, they’ve nailed the essentials without any unnecessary fuss. The staff actually seems happy to see you — which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given in busy tourist areas. You’ll find the check-in process smooth and efficient, setting a positive tone for your stay.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about Na Poříčí street — you’re literally a five-minute walk from Old Town Square, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of being right on top of it. You can easily stroll to the Astronomical Clock or Charles Bridge, then retreat back to this quieter pocket when you need a break from the crowds. The metro station is practically next door, which becomes incredibly handy when your feet are screaming after a day of cobblestone exploration. Couples seem to really get this balance — they’ve rated the location 9.5, and the proximity to major attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring the historic city center.

The Room Experience

The room won’t win any design awards, but it’s exactly what you need after a long day of sightseeing. Everything works properly — the shower has decent pressure, the bed is comfortable enough, and there’s actually space to open your suitcase without performing gymnastics. The windows are well-insulated too, which you’ll appreciate since Prague can get pretty lively at night. It’s that sweet spot where you’re not paying for amenities you won’t use, but you’re also not roughing it. The furnishings are practical and durable, designed for the needs of modern travelers.

Breakfast Worth Getting Up For

The breakfast setup here is genuinely impressive for a three-star property. The buffet covers all the basics — fresh bread, local cheeses, decent coffee — but they’ve also thought about dietary restrictions with vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Everything is clearly labeled, so you’re not playing guessing games with ingredients. It’s substantial enough to fuel a morning of castle climbing or museum hopping without feeling overly heavy. Guests consistently praise the quality and variety available each morning.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re getting solid three-star comfort in an absolutely prime location, with parking available if you’re brave enough to drive in Prague (though honestly, you probably won’t need a car). The 8.1 rating reflects exactly what you’d expect — reliable, clean, well-positioned, and fairly priced for what you get. It’s the kind of hotel where you spend your time exploring the incredible city outside, then come back to a comfortable base that just works. The value proposition here is exceptional for budget-conscious travelers seeking authentic Prague experiences.

Great location with brilliant transport links

Really central location with great transport links; breakfast was very good and staff was very helpful. The bed was super comfortable.

What could be improved: My hotel room window looked on to another window so had to have the curtains pulled shut while in the room for privacy. I was mostly out so it didn’t matter so much.

Superb

What could be improved: 10/10 location, clean facilities. Everything you need for a hotel. Only negative was baggage storage didn’t feel very secure. Could just be what I am use to is getting a tag that needs to be presented to pick up however this was just a big storeroom usually with the door open and you could come and go as you please. I also understand with how busy it was why that is the case
