Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel William on Hellichova street, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something good. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Prague‘s Lesser Town, and honestly — the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that classic European charm without trying too hard, you know? It’s the kind of place where you can tell they’ve put thought into the details without going overboard. The elegant facade welcomes guests with its timeless architectural elements that speak to Prague’s rich history.

The Perfect Prague Base

Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally steps away from everything that matters in Prague. I mean, Prague Castle is practically around the corner, and you can walk to Charles Bridge in about five minutes. The neighborhood itself is quieter than Old Town (thank goodness), but you’re still close enough that you don’t need to plan your day around transportation. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.5 out of 10, and after spending time in the area, I totally understand why. The cobblestone streets and historic atmosphere create an authentic Prague experience that many visitors cherish.

Your Room and Comfort

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star hotel — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. Nothing fancy, but everything worked perfectly. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in European hotels), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t be dealing with any unpleasant surprises. What struck me most was how quiet it was at night, despite being in such a central location. The windows do a great job of keeping out street noise, ensuring peaceful rest after long days of sightseeing.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

Now, about breakfast — this is where Hotel William really surprised me. They offer everything from continental to full English, plus vegetarian and gluten-free options. The buffet setup works well, and they even do breakfast to go if you’re planning an early castle visit or day trip. I appreciated having American-style options too, which isn’t something you always find in Prague. The restaurant area gets good morning light, making it a pleasant way to start your day before heading out to explore. Fresh pastries and quality coffee complete the morning experience beautifully.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this is a solid, reliable place to stay in one of Prague’s best neighborhoods. The 8.5 rating makes sense when you consider what you’re getting — great location, comfortable accommodations, and service that actually cares about your experience. You’re paying for the location and consistency here, and both deliver. If you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos of Old Town, this spot hits that sweet spot perfectly. Plus, there’s something to be said for a hotel that knows exactly what it is and does it well, providing genuine value for discerning travelers.
