You know what struck me first about Hotel White Lion? It’s tucked away on Cimburkova street in this quiet residential area that most tourists never see – honestly, I almost walked past it because it doesn’t scream “hotel” from the outside. But that’s actually part of its charm. You’re staying in a real Prague neighborhood, not some touristy bubble, which means you’ll hear actual Czech conversations drifting from the café next door instead of English-speaking tour groups at 7 AM.

The inside is where things get interesting though. It’s got that solid 4-star feel without trying too hard – think clean lines, decent-sized rooms (well, decent for European standards), and staff who actually seem to enjoy their jobs. The front desk guy remembered my name after the first day, which… I mean, that doesn’t happen at chain hotels. What really won me over was the attention to small stuff that matters when you’re tired from walking cobblestones all day. The beds are genuinely comfortable – not just “hotel comfortable” – and the bathrooms have proper water pressure. Simple things, but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from Old Town Square, but here’s the thing – that’s perfect. Close enough that you’re not spending your vacation budget on transport, but far enough that you can actually sleep at night without drunk bachelor parties stumbling past your window. The Náměstí Míru metro station is a short walk away, and there’s this fantastic little pivnice (beer hall) called U Fleků just around the corner that serves arguably better goulash than the touristy spots downtown. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – it’s mostly street parking in the area – but honestly, you don’t need a car in Prague anyway. The 8.3 rating feels about right to me; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it nails the fundamentals and gives you that local experience most visitors miss. Plus, the price point makes sense for what you’re getting, especially if you book directly with them.

  The room was very clean, comfortable and big enough for us. The hotel is near bus station, just 5 stops from centre ~12 minutes. The breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly (it was my husband’s birthday and I suppose they saw it on the passport because they surprised us with a bottle of wine and baloons). I trully recommend this hotel.

  Great cozy room with good internet speed and a great bathroom.
  Excellent location to reach any place in Prague.
  The staff were friendly and helpful.
  Very fast check-in & checkout process.
  Breakfast options were adequate and food good.
  All in all, great deal & stay.
  
  What could be improved: Some spots at the entrance carpet were dirty/had spots on them, and on one place next to the wall.
  But nothing that cannot be quickly solve and might've been a very recent thing. A nitpick from my side.

  What could be improved: It s kinda far from the city center, but it s managable if you visit Prague on a warm weather.
  The breakfast wasn t really versatile, a lot of sweets and very little filling food.

  The rooms were clean and tidy, and the breakfast was quite filling. The location was decent, but still required some walking to get into the heart of Prague. There are a number of restaurants and bars conveniently located nearby.

  Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent and very well presented breakfast particularly strong on salads, cheeses, cooked meats and home made cakes. Bedroom featured useful features including a fridge and safe. Comfortable bed. Seven minutes to very frequent tram service and 15 mins to main train station.
  
  What could be improved: No air-conditioning in the rooms.There is a noisy bar close by with people standing outside talking until late although thank goodness the hotel has good windows to suppress noise. Not much else really.

  The room was nice, very clean, basic bathroom, nothing fancy, the beds were nice also check in after hours was possible, we just had to ask for the necessary code multiple times.
  We also didnt have to pay deposit.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast was passable, nothing fancy, but they always brought fresh pancakes, which my travel group appreciated a lot.
  Also the breakfast room was to small for their hotel capacity.
