Hotel & Wellness Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Hotel & Wellness on Svornosti street, I wasn’t expecting much despite the five-star rating. The building sits quietly in Prague’s Smíchov district, and from the outside it looks almost understated compared to some of the flashier places closer to Old Town. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

The lobby actually surprised me – there’s this really nice blend of modern wellness vibes with subtle Czech touches that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. I mean, you’re not going to find those over-the-top crystal chandeliers that seem to be everywhere in Prague hotels these days. The staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing during check-in, which honestly is rarer than it should be. What really caught my attention though was how quiet everything felt, even though you’re only about fifteen minutes from Wenceslas Square by tram. The wellness center is clearly the main draw here – I could smell those eucalyptus spa scents the moment I stepped off the elevator on the wellness floor, and the treatment rooms actually have proper soundproofing (trust me, I’ve stayed in “spa hotels” where you could hear every conversation through paper-thin walls).

The location is sort of perfect if you know Prague a bit. You’re right near the Anděl metro station, which connects you to everything, but you’re also walking distance to some really solid local restaurants that most tourists never find. There’s this tiny Vietnamese place around the corner that locals queue up for – way better than the overpriced tourist traps near the castle. The rooms themselves feel genuinely restful, not just Instagram-ready, if that makes sense. Mine had blackout curtains that actually worked and a bathroom with one of those rainfall showers that doesn’t just dribble water everywhere. I did notice some minor wear around the window frames – nothing dramatic, but it’s clear this place focuses more on function than constantly refreshing every tiny detail. The 8.1 rating feels about right, actually. It’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but everything works well and the wellness facilities are legitimately good. Plus, if you’re dealing with Prague’s intense summer heat or those brutal winter winds, having a proper spa to retreat to makes all the difference. The breakfast spread was solid too – they had proper Czech pastries alongside the international stuff, and the coffee was strong enough to fuel a full day of wandering the city’s cobblestone streets.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Prague at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals and outdoor concerts.

Reviews of Hotel & Wellness

  • Vist to prauge – Alice from United Kingdom – 29 February 2024 (9/10)

Brilliant staff very helpful took us to restaurant on first night due to late arrival.
Good location, easy access to nearby attractions

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Very good – Jimi from Finland – 24 October 2023 (8/10)

Very close to metro and multiple tram lines. If you want to walk, the river is only two blocks away and offers a great view. Breakfast was not included on my stay, so the breakfast coffee and croissant was something around 10€, I found that too expensive, but luckily there's a few nice cafes nearby.

What could be improved: The television had like a 100 channels, but the only english speaking was a news channel.

  • Superb – Enis from Turkey – 21 October 2023 (9/10)

The receptionist Yana was very friendly and I would like to thank to her

  • I will come back soon. – Marcela from Czech Republic – 20 October 2023 (9/10)

Free wifi worked fine. Excellent breakfast arranged with love (many thanks to Tanja and Ivan). Very nice historical interiors renovated to comfort in sensitive way.
Many thanks to all receptionists and especially to Jana for very kind help and guidance.
Very nice bathroom with all what we need there…
3 different sizes of pillows prepared for my choice. Large and comfortable bed.

What could be improved: Showerhead was meant as wellness, but its massage part did not worked as I would expect.
Bill for my business trip was not ready during my check-out. I wait for its receive via e-mail in next days.
TV was a bit complicated and I could not find other than German programs.

  • Interesting design & theme. Solid breakfast for the price, helpful staff – Jack from Netherlands – 22 September 2023 (9/10)

    Design & staff

What could be improved: Bed/mattress could be firmer (maybe newer?) overall decent stay.

  • Strange rules!! – Gerhard from Austria – 16 September 2023 (7/10)

Nice rooms in the cener of Prag. Easy to reach by car but it is not easy to find parking which is free of charge.

What could be improved: The Hotel was asking for 200€ cash during check in. This is the first time in more than 10 years since I am travelling that a Hotel asked for this.

  • Superb – Chunnan from Germany – 15 September 2023 (9/10)

The services of the staff. Ivan was very helpful and did a good job.

  • Fine. Recomended. Quality stay in Prague. – Zbynendo from Czech Republic – 11 September 2023 (9/10)

    Styl pokoje. Stav vybaveni.

What could be improved: Security deposit.

  • I had a wonderful stay and I will book the same hotel next time. – Paul from Germany – 17 August 2023 (8/10)

room was very clean and the receptionist execptional

  • Good – Ramadan from Germany – 16 August 2023 (8/10)

    Good stuff
    Clean
    Fancy

What could be improved: It is really fancy hotel however I have some comments like: I didn’t know that it doesn’t accept card payment and they require 200€ or 5000czk unless I already booked, and this mad me a little bit upset because I had to look for an ATM machine to withdraw the money.

We asked for 3 separated beds and I was expecting it once I arrive, but was not ready at that time and we asked for help to separate the beds.

The AC was not so good with annoying peep in sometimes.
