Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Unique on Uruguayská street, you immediately get the sense that this four-star property takes its name seriously. The building has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Prague — not flashy, but there’s something about the facade that makes you pause and think, “okay, this looks promising.” I mean, the entrance alone gives you that little flutter of excitement you get when you know you’ve picked well.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying in this part of Prague — you’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually breathe. The Vinohrady district has this wonderful residential feel, with tree-lined streets and local cafes where you’ll hear more Czech than English. You can walk to Wenceslas Square in about fifteen minutes, but honestly, you might find yourself lingering in the neighborhood longer than planned. There’s a reason couples rate this location so highly — it’s got that romantic, lived-in Prague vibe that the Old Town sometimes lacks.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had these lovely high ceilings that immediately made the space feel more generous than the square footage might suggest. What struck me most was the attention to detail — the lighting was actually thoughtful (you know how rare that is in hotels?), and the bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed. The bathroom was modern without being sterile, and I appreciated that they’d managed to fit everything in without making it feel cramped. The furnishings throughout were comfortable and well-maintained.

Dining & Amenities

The hotel’s restaurant serves this interesting mix of Czech and international dishes, and while I wouldn’t call it groundbreaking, the quality is solid and the atmosphere is genuinely pleasant. What I found particularly nice was that they source some ingredients locally — you can taste the difference in simple things like the bread and vegetables. The staff here actually seems to enjoy their work, which creates this relaxed energy that flows through the whole property. There’s also a small wellness area that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of walking Prague’s cobblestones.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the kind of place that’s going to wow you with over-the-top amenities or Instagram-worthy design moments. What it does exceptionally well is create this comfortable, sophisticated base for exploring Prague. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense when you experience how everything just works smoothly — from check-in to the quality of sleep you get. It’s the kind of hotel where you find yourself planning your next Prague trip before you’ve even checked out, partly because you know you’d be happy staying here again. The overall experience leaves a lasting positive impression.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Prague at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals and outdoor concerts.

All was perfect. The room is spacious, beautiful balcony and bathroom. Breakfast was above average with a good variety. The staff was very nice. Close to metro and you can get to the city center in max 20 min. All in all I can only recommend this hotel.

Superb

Very nice place. I arrived on an extraordinarily hot day, and the room was fresh without having this airconditioning climate. The room had a little terras, and the upper rooms have balconies. The staff was very friendly, breakfast, facilities, equipment and consumables were ok. In front of the hotel is a 24h shop, which gives an assuring feeling when coming home late.
