Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Tyl? The location is actually pretty clever – it’s tucked away on this quiet square called Tylovo náměstí that most tourists completely miss, but you’re literally a five-minute walk from Wenceslas Square. I mean, you get the best of both worlds here. The building itself has that classic Prague charm without being too stuffy about it, and honestly, the 4-star rating feels about right. It’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it’s definitely a step up from those generic chain places you see everywhere.
The rooms are well… they’re solid. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything works properly (which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given in Prague’s older hotels). The beds are actually comfortable – I was pleasantly surprised by that – and the bathrooms are modern enough without feeling sterile. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Being on that little square means you’re not dealing with the constant tram noise or drunk tourists stumbling around at 3 AM like you would closer to Old Town. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too, which makes check-in smooth and they’re pretty good with recommendations if you ask. One thing though – parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, so if you’re driving, definitely sort that out ahead of time.
Here’s the thing about Hotel Tyl that really won me over: it feels like it belongs in Prague rather than just existing there, if that makes sense. The 7.7 rating is probably fair – it’s not perfect, but it gets the important stuff right. You’re close enough to walk to all the major sights (Charles Bridge is maybe 10 minutes on foot), but you’re also in a neighborhood where actual Czechs live and work. There’s this great little café around the corner that locals hit up for morning coffee, and honestly, that’s worth more than any fancy hotel amenity to me. The whole area comes alive during the day but settles down nicely in the evenings, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to recover from walking around cobblestones all day. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere authentic without sacrificing comfort – and in Prague, that balance is harder to find than you’d think.

Jaebeom from South Korea – 25 April 2024 (8/10)
This hotel has a really good location. Transportation convenience is the best.
I think it's better because it's a little bit away from the old town. There's everything around the hotel like Mcdonalds, KFC, Mart open until 1 Am, Currency Exchange, Good Bars and even a delicious Korean restaurant.
Most of all, the staff are very kind. especially reception manager Mr. Morkos, he is really nice man.
Everythng was good. I always visit Prague every year in April.
Mr. Morkos, I look forward to seeing your kind smile and hospitality again soon.

The location is perfect for tram/metro/bus connections. It's also walking distance to the National Museum and residential areas of Prague. The room was clean and comfortable although I couldn't open the window in the room. Breakfast was included in the price of the room, but it could have included more variety for people with dietary restrictions like myself. Overall, perfectly fine stay for a night or two.

What could be improved: Loud street, bring earplugs if you have soft sleepGuy from Belgium – 13 March 2025 (9/10)
Hotel Tyl was just perfect for us. We arrived in Prague by train, so we could walk to the hotel. The room was nice and warm (February) with a spacious feeling due to the high ceilings. We got a real double bed, like we asked for. Not an improvised two beds placed together. Nice bathroom. Breakfast had everything you could wish for, though in the basement. The hotel is somewhat out of the historical centre, but there are ample trams in 50 m and an underground station around the corner. Cafés and restaurants close by.
What could be improved: Maybe a faraway and muffled roar of trams or the underground. But this is just a remark to fill up the minus box. We absolutely liked the public transport close by. Check your bills in the Prague restaurants! (Hotel was OK)Big from France – 10 March 2025 (9/10)

I liked so much the space, the room, facilities and everything was clean.
What could be improved: The breakfast did not have too many options in terms of fruits and there was only one type of yogurth without sugar.Georgia from Greece – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful and clean room with a lot of space, even better than it looked in the pictures! Great location, with a 15-20 munute walk to the main square.
Anthony from Australia – 4 January 2025 (8/10)
Had a lovely charm, nice breakfast, helpful staff, spacious, and clean.
What could be improved: Didn’t understand why the hand shower, didn’t have an adjustable pole. Beds not overly comfortable.
