Hotel Taurus Overview
So here’s the thing about Hotel Taurus – it’s one of those places that gets Prague exactly right without trying too hard. I mean, you’re on Vinohradska, which honestly sounds intimidating if you don’t know the city, but it’s actually this perfect spot where you feel like you’re living in Prague rather than just visiting it. The street has that authentic buzz going on, with locals grabbing coffee and trams clattering by, but you’re not drowning in tourist crowds like you would be near Old Town Square.
The hotel itself has this solid, unpretentious vibe that I really appreciate. It’s a proper 4-star place, so you get the comfort level you want (decent shower pressure, thank god, and beds that don’t feel like sleeping on concrete), but there’s something refreshingly honest about it. The staff actually seem to know Prague – like, really know it – so when you ask about getting to Wenceslas Square or whether that little restaurant down the street is worth trying, you get real answers instead of rehearsed tourist board responses. And you know what? The location works brilliantly because you can walk to the main sights without feeling like you’re staying in a theme park. There’s a great tram stop basically at your doorstep, and I love that you can hop on and be at the castle in maybe fifteen minutes, but then come back to a neighborhood that actually feels lived-in.
What really sold me on the place was how it handles the details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere for more than one night. The rooms are well thought out – not just pretty, but functional in ways that show someone was paying attention. You’ve got proper lighting for reading (shocking how many hotels mess this up), and the windows actually open, which is clutch during those warm Prague summers. The breakfast situation is solid too, with local touches that don’t feel forced. I mean, it’s not going to change your life, but you’ll leave satisfied and ready to tackle whatever Prague throws at you that day. The 8.1 rating makes sense because it’s the kind of place that does what it promises without drama – you check in easily, sleep well, and wake up excited to explore the city rather than dealing with hotel nonsense. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews of Hotel Taurus

Yvonne from United Kingdom – 12 March 2025 (9/10)

Áron from Slovakia – 24 February 2025 (7/10)
Very good location and a nice room.
What could be improved: How come, that in a 4 star hotel is instant coffee served for breakfast…? Big disappointment, at least place there a little espresso machine for alternative.Beverley from United Kingdom – 4 January 2025 (7/10)
Lovely traditional hotel.
Comfortable beds
Great shower
The breakfast was excellent. There was a large selection of hot & cold food. All self service and very well organised.
Very good location being less than 5 mins walk to the metro and away from the busy centre.
Very good value for money.
What could be improved: The walls are thin. We could hear the shower and talking etc in the next room and the sounds on the corridor outside our room seemed to echo. We did read about the noise in other reviews but as we were only staying 2 nights we took a chance but although we used ear plugs, we were still disturbed in the night quite a bit by sounds within the hotel so 2 nights was enough.Alym from Italy – 28 December 2024 (8/10)
Nice hotel in the center of Prague (not a touristic center, but like Old town is 10 minutes on metro from there). The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was good.
Liana from Denmark – 22 December 2024 (7/10)
Confort and clean
What could be improved: While we were serving breakfast, the pastry foods ran out long before the meal time even ended. Even if we wanted to serve them, they didn't have to bring any more even though we paid money for accommodation and food. The toilet don't have a ventilation and is bad for toleitMelanie from United Kingdom – 26 November 2024 (9/10)
Striking old building, very well placed away from the centre but in a lovely area. Good sized room, comfy bed, useful chair and desk area. Tea and coffee facilities very welcome. Spacious bathroom with plenty of hot water and toiletries. Tasty breakfast.
What could be improved: Larger towels please. Quite noisy as people made their way to the lift at 3am (we were not as close to this as some rooms) but I think that is the other residents being inconsiderate rather than any fault of the hotel.Viktorija from Latvia – 26 November 2024 (9/10)
Breakfast was good with good choice? some rooms differs from the pictures.
