Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Hotel Savoy Prague on Keplerova Street – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that feels miles from the tourist chaos, even though you’re actually just a fifteen-minute walk from Prague Castle. But the moment you step inside, you realize this place gets it right in ways that matter.

The lobby hits you with this understated elegance that feels genuinely Czech rather than trying to be some generic European luxury hotel. There’s dark wood everywhere, but not in an overwhelming way, and the staff actually seems to know the neighborhood – I mean, they pointed me toward this little wine bar on Nerudova that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are what I’d call quietly sophisticated; mine had these massive windows that looked out over the red-tiled roofs, and honestly, the bed was one of those you sink into after walking cobblestones all day and just think “thank god.” The bathroom was surprisingly spacious for a European hotel, with heated floors that you’ll appreciate in Prague’s damp months.

What really sets this place apart though is how it feels like you’re staying in an actual neighborhood instead of tourist central. You know that morning coffee shop buzz you hear in residential areas? That’s what wakes you up here, not tour buses rumbling past at 7 AM. There’s a tram stop practically at the corner that takes you straight down to Malá Strana, and if you’re up for the walk, the path to the castle through Petřin Hill is gorgeous – locals use it as their daily jog route. The hotel restaurant does this excellent goulash (I know, I know, but it’s actually good), and they serve breakfast until 11, which is a godsend when you’ve been out exploring Prague’s beer scene the night before. Parking was surprisingly manageable too – they have a small garage, which in Prague is basically like finding gold. The only minor thing is that some rooms face the courtyard and can be a bit dim during winter months, but honestly, you’re probably not spending much time in your room anyway. For a 4-star that consistently earns those high ratings, Savoy Prague nails that sweet spot of being refined without feeling stuffy, local without being inconvenient.

Beautiful, comfortable hotel. Nothing to complain. Great breakfast

    What could be improved: –

  • Rey from United Arab Emirates – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

The room was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. The hotel's location is perfect for being close to Prague's main attractions while staying away from the tourist crowds.

  • Lenka from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

Great hotel, clean, comfortable. Only I would like either firmer pillows or available extra pillows in the room. Breakfast was good. Hotel is in excellent location!! Definitely will stay again.

  • Tamas from Hungary – 30 March 2025 (9/10)

Spacious room and bathroom and very good selection of food for breakfast. Superb value.

  • Steve from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (9/10)

Lovely hotel. Great value. I really like the location – nice and quiet,
square with some pleasant cafes, but just a 15 minute walk to Malostranské Náměstí and Charles Bridge.

  • Ian from United Kingdom – 24 March 2025 (8/10)

It was a very good hotel. Nicely decorated and very handy for the Tram. Service was good and breakfast was too.

What could be improved: It was perpetually too warm. Bathroom was tired. Bar was not particularly inviting, it was basically a lounge outside the dining room.

  • Julia from United States – 21 March 2025 (9/10)

great location, staff was great, room was lovely

What could be improved: the room was very hot and i couldn’t adjust the temperature, was mostly fine with window open though

  • Charles from United Kingdom – 6 March 2025 (9/10)

I liked the room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Location good opposite the 22 Tram stop. Staff friendly too.

  • Ben from Czech Republic – 26 February 2025 (8/10)

    It's bigger than I thought.
Old building with typical "old" furniture and interior.
    Nice and causy.

What could be improved: It comes probably with the old looks, but I did not like the separate tabs for cold and warm water.
