Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Royal Prague? It’s actually tucked away on Thámova street in this quiet residential pocket that most tourists never stumble across – which honestly works in your favor. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the old town (maybe 15 minutes if you don’t get distracted by the cute cafés along the way), but you escape that constant hum of tour groups and street performers that can drive you nuts after a few days.
The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on – not trying too hard to scream “luxury,” but you can tell someone put thought into the details. The lobby smells faintly of cedar and something floral I couldn’t quite place, and check-in was refreshingly smooth. No long queues or that frantic energy you get at hotels right in the tourist zones. The staff actually seemed to have time to chat, which is rare these days. My room faced the courtyard (request this if you can), so mornings were pleasantly quiet – just the occasional tram rumbling by in the distance and locals heading to work. The beds are proper comfortable, not those rock-hard European mattresses that leave you feeling like you wrestled with a brick wall all night.
What I really appreciated was how the hotel sits in this authentic Prague neighborhood where you’ll find yourself grabbing coffee at spots locals actually frequent. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down – Pekárna something-or-other – where the bread is still warm at 7am and nobody speaks English, but they’ll figure out what you want with lots of pointing and smiling. The hotel’s breakfast is solid (nothing revolutionary, but fresh pastries and decent coffee), though honestly, I kept wandering out to explore the neighborhood food scene instead. Parking was surprisingly manageable too – they’ve got a small lot, and street parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to Wenceslas Square. The whole area feels like you’re staying where Prague people actually live, not in some tourist bubble. That 8.8 rating makes sense when you factor in the genuine neighborhood vibe, the peaceful nights, and how the staff treats you like a person rather than a room number. It’s the kind of place where you’ll actually want to hang around the lobby with a book instead of rushing out constantly.

Roxana from Belgium – 3 June 2022 (9/10)
The place was very clean and the room was a great size for a triple. Parking around the hotel was really easy. The hotel offered spa services which looked nice, unfortuntely we didn't get a chance to use them since we spent our time walking around in the city.
Petrc86 from Czech Republic – 25 March 2025 (9/10)
Location great, getting parking in the area wasn't hard at all, staff really nice and helpful, room really nice, spaceous and clean. Few meters to subway, many cafes, bakeries, restaurants, bars around.

The hotel was very comfortable and the staff were very helpful. There was a great variety for the breakfast and the food was good. The hotel is not in the centre of Prague, but it is easily accessible via the nearby metro station and Tram lines. Would deffinately recommend this hotel. For the room and breakfast for a short city break.it was very good value for money.

What could be improved: Nothing.Бойчук from Ukraine – 25 February 2025 (8/10)
I liked everything, except for the taxi that they helped me call at the hotel on the way to the bus station
What could be improved: the taxi price is several times overstated, the hotel reception worker called. Maybe he only called the service, but then I happened upon a fraudulent driverTadeusz from Poland – 24 February 2025 (9/10)
Very nice service (thank you Anastasia), good location (close to merto and dining), underground parking, ability to charge an electric car.
