Hotel PurPur Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel PurPur on Řeznická Street, you’ll notice it’s tucked into one of those charming Prague side streets that feels authentically local rather than touristy. The building itself has that classic Central European charm — nothing flashy, but there’s something appealing about its understated presence. I mean, this is a three-star place, so you’re not expecting marble lobbies, but what you get is honest and welcoming. The entrance feels intimate, almost like you’re staying at a well-kept family property rather than a corporate hotel.
Location & Getting Around
Honestly, the location is probably the hotel’s strongest selling point — and the numbers back this up with that 8.9 location score. You’re right in Prague‘s heart, which means you can walk to Old Town Square in about ten minutes, maybe fifteen if you’re taking your time and stopping for photos. What I really appreciate is that while you’re central, Řeznická isn’t one of those streets packed with tour groups at all hours. Couples seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 8.8, probably because it strikes that perfect balance between accessibility and romance. The fact that there’s parking available right at the hotel is actually a big deal in Prague’s historic center, where finding a spot can be a nightmare.
The Room Experience
The rooms at Hotel PurPur are what you’d expect from a solid three-star — clean, comfortable, and functional without any unnecessary frills. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter, with touches that show someone actually cared about the guest experience. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’ve stayed in four-star places with worse mattresses), and the bathrooms are modern enough that you won’t feel like you’re roughing it. You know what I noticed? The windows actually open properly, which might sound trivial but it’s nice to get some fresh air flowing through, especially during Prague’s pleasant spring and fall months.
Neighborhood Character
What makes this spot special is how it puts you right in the mix of real Prague life. There’s a local pub literally around the corner where you’ll hear more Czech than English — that’s always a good sign. The nearby streets have those little shops and cafés that locals actually use, not just tourist traps selling overpriced souvenirs. You can grab fresh bread from a bakery that’s been there for decades, or duck into a wine bar that doesn’t feel like it was designed for Instagram. It’s this kind of authentic neighborhood feel that makes Hotel PurPur work better than some of the more expensive places closer to the main squares.
Why Guests Love It
The 7.5 rating tells the real story here — this isn’t about perfection, it’s about solid value and genuine character. People come back because it delivers exactly what it promises without pretense. You’re paying for a great location, comfortable accommodations, and that rare thing in Prague’s center: the feeling that you’re staying somewhere with actual personality rather than just another tourist processing center. The staff seems to understand that guests want to experience Prague, not just sleep in it, and they’re helpful without being pushy about it.

The room was very clean and large, the amenities were great and plenty of space, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very lucky to get a top floor room which had a little outdoor space which was lovely to look out of and the room was lovely and warm.

The location was great. Room was clean. Parking is on hotel garage
What could be improved: The building is old. You can hear all the noises in the hallway, and it’s impossible to sleep comfortably
