Hotel Description
So here’s the thing about Hotel PULSE8 – yeah, they rebranded from Pentahotel Prague, but honestly the vibe is still pretty much the same cool, design-forward place it always was. You’re looking at Sokolovská street in Karlín, which I know sounds totally unfamiliar if you’re not from Prague, but trust me on this – it’s actually one of the best neighborhoods to stay in these days. Karlín used to be this forgotten industrial area, but now it’s where all the good coffee shops and creative spaces are popping up. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Florenc metro station, which means you can get anywhere in the city without dealing with those tourist-packed trams in the center.
The hotel itself has this modern, slightly edgy aesthetic that feels authentic rather than trying too hard. I mean, you can tell they put thought into the design – the lobby has these interesting concrete elements mixed with warmer touches, and the rooms are spacious by European standards with really comfortable beds. What I appreciate is that they didn’t go overboard with the “boutique hotel” thing where everything looks cool but nothing actually works. The bathrooms are properly sized, the wifi is solid throughout the building, and the air conditioning actually keeps up during those surprisingly hot Prague summers. One thing though – if you’re a light sleeper, maybe ask for a room facing away from Sokolovská since it can get a bit busy with traffic, especially during morning rush hour.
You know what really sold me on this place? The breakfast situation is genuinely good – not just “hotel breakfast good” but actually good good. And the staff seems to know the neighborhood really well, which is huge when you want recommendations that aren’t just the same five tourist spots everyone mentions. From here, you can walk to the Vítkov Hill (great views, fewer crowds than Petřin), or head the other way toward the river and find yourself in the thick of things near Old Town in about fifteen minutes. The 8.6 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but it nails what most travelers actually want: comfortable, well-located, with enough personality to feel special without being precious about it. Plus, and this matters more than people admit, the check-in process is refreshingly straightforward – no weird upselling or confusing key card systems that leave you standing in hallways looking confused.

The hotel had a fantastic bar and lounge, the rooms were modern and clean. The shower was excellent. The breakfast was very good. The location was perfect, just outside the centre but with lots of nice bars and restaurants at reasonable prices close by.. Easy to get a tram outside and get into the centre.
