You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Prokop Square? Walking up to this place on Cimburkova, I honestly expected another generic business hotel – but there’s something genuinely welcoming about how they’ve set this up. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feel that doesn’t try too hard, and the staff actually remembers your name after day one (which, let’s be real, doesn’t happen everywhere in Prague these days).

The location is one of those “locals know but tourists don’t” situations. You’re technically in Vinohrady, which means you’re away from the Old Town crowds but still close enough that a twenty-minute tram ride gets you to Wenceslas Square. I mean, you could walk it if you’re feeling ambitious – it’s maybe thirty minutes through some really beautiful residential streets. What I love is that you’re surrounded by actual Prague life here. There’s a fantastic little café called Café Savoy just a few blocks away where you’ll sit next to Czech families having Sunday brunch, not tour groups. The neighborhood bakery down the street opens at 6 AM and makes these incredible rohlíky that honestly beat any hotel breakfast pastry.

The rooms themselves feel thoughtfully designed rather than just decorated – if that makes sense. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and they’ve managed to soundproof well enough that you don’t hear every tram that goes by, though you’ll still get that gentle urban hum that reminds you you’re in a real city. The bathrooms are modern without being stark, and here’s a detail that matters: the shower pressure is actually good. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Prague where the water barely trickles out. Check-in was smooth – no weird deposit holds or passport photocopying drama – and they store luggage happily if you arrive early. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area (it’s mostly residential street parking), but they’ll give you solid advice on where to find spots, and honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The 8.9 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but everything works the way it should, the neighborhood gives you a real feel for how the city actually lives, and you end up spending less time traveling to and from tourist spots because you’re positioned really smartly between different areas of interest.

  This hotel is exceptional. The staff ware very helpful and professional. The cleanliness was top notch. The room was equipped with everything one might need for a comfortable and worry free stay.
