There’s a decent bakery literally around the corner where you can grab proper Czech pastries for breakfast (way better than hotel continental buffets, honestly), and the Anděl shopping center is close enough for anything you forgot to pack. The tram connections are solid too – the 12 and 20 lines will get you pretty much anywhere you want to go, and during rush hour you’ll be going against the flow of commuters heading into the city center. I stayed here in both summer and late fall, and while summer gets a bit warm in the rooms facing south (older buildings, you know how it is), the neighborhood stays refreshingly quiet even when Prague’s packed with tourists. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything just… works. The wifi doesn’t cut out, the shower has proper pressure, and the beds are actually comfortable. Small things, but they matter when you’re jet-lagged and just want a solid base for exploring the city.

What really sells me on Hotel Petr is how it feels authentic to Prague itself – no fake chandeliers or tourist-trap vibes, just a well-run three-star that understands what travelers actually need. The staff has this refreshing approach where they’ll give you real recommendations instead of steering you toward overpriced tourist restaurants. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the sound of trams in the morning actually becomes kind of soothing after a day or two. If you’re the type who needs to be steps away from every major sight, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want to experience Prague more like someone who lives here – grabbing coffee at neighborhood spots, taking public transport, maybe even picking up groceries at the local Tesco – then Hotel Petr hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  Best free breakfast we have ever experienced and we travel quite a bit. This location is VERY quite compared to a location in the old town yet the old town is easily assessable via public transportation or walking which we used.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing we really did not like or was a show stopper however the shower was a bit small and the shower head was not usable as a shower without holding it.

  The hotel is very vell maintained and clean. Bed was comfortable. Staff was very helpful and friendly. A large variety of items was offered for breakfast.

  With only a 15 minute walk to the Charles Bridge we only took public transport once. The tram stop was two streets down so very convenient if we had needed it more.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast was very basic and the we would have liked the scrambled eggs less runny.

  Comfortable clean room, very good and delicious breakfast, with a lot of fruits and bakings. Possibility to have safe parking. Not so far from Carl Bridge – about 25 minutes by foot.
  
  What could be improved: Administrator at first look was nervous, but then everything explained and was kind. We get room not in the yard, as was written in description, but to the street. And couldn't sleep with opened windows- it was too much noise from outside.
