Hotel Páv

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
Křemencova 13, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Hotel Páv on Křemencova Street – it’s tucked into this quiet corner of New Town that most tourists completely miss. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly why I ended up loving this place. The building has that understated Prague charm where you can tell it’s been around forever, but someone actually cares about maintaining it properly.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re about a ten-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but far enough away that you don’t get the drunk bachelor party noise at 3 AM (trust me on this – I’ve made that mistake before in Prague). There’s this great little tram stop practically around the corner that’ll get you to the castle or Old Town without the tourist-trap pricing of hotels right in the thick of things. I mean, you can walk to Charles Bridge in maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t mind the stroll, and honestly the walk takes you through some really authentic neighborhoods where actual Czechs live and work.

What really surprised me was how much thought they’d put into the small stuff. The rooms aren’t huge – this is a 3-star place, not some luxury chain – but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some fancier places I’ve stayed. The Wi-Fi actually reaches every corner (revolutionary concept, right?), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure, something you definitely can’t take for granted in older Prague buildings. The breakfast situation is solid too – not some sad continental spread, but actual local stuff mixed in with what international guests expect. I remember thinking the coffee was surprisingly good for a hotel this size.

The staff genuinely seems to know the city, which makes such a difference when you need restaurant recommendations that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps. They pointed me toward this incredible goulash place about three blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise – no English menu, just perfect food. That’s the kind of local knowledge you get when you stay somewhere the owners actually care about their neighborhood rather than just processing as many bookings as possible.

Look, Hotel Páv isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a well-run, comfortable place to stay while you explore Prague, with people who know what they’re doing and a location that puts you right in the sweet spot between convenience and authenticity. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not flashy enough for a perfect score, but honestly, it does everything you actually need really well. If you want marble lobbies and concierge services, go somewhere else and pay double. But if you want a clean, comfortable base for exploring one of Europe’s most beautiful cities without feeling like you’re in some generic international hotel bubble, this place gets it right.

Superb

Its localisation is perfect, the u fleku brewery is right next door and the tram to the city centre is a few minutes walk away. The room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom. The breakfast was included in the price and was very tasty with a nice assortment. The hotel is in a quiet street so it was quiet.

3 stars is to low for this hotel

Room, especially bathroom was super clean. It exceedes 4 star hotels in Spain I've been to. Comfy bed, pillow not as comfy but it is the matter of preference (maybe have different type of pillows to choose?). Can't say I was missing something that would make my stay uncomfortable. Light on Air con is way to bright when it's on, but that's my only complaint :)

What could be improved: Very loud at night when windows opened but this is something hotel don't have control of :)

Superb

Very comfortable and spacious room and bathroom. The location was perfect for me, and it is a nice walk to the center too. There are plenty of shops around, and also good restaurants and bars.

What could be improved: There is no fridge in the room and no air-condition unit. The breakfast was good, but very standard.
