Hotel Oya Overview
You know what? Hotel Oya surprised me in the best possible way. I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to Na Pankráci street, I wasn’t expecting much – this part of Prague 4 isn’t exactly where most tourists end up, and the area has that slightly industrial feel you get in former Eastern Bloc cities. But honestly, that’s part of what makes this place work so well.
The hotel itself sits in this quiet residential stretch, and I mean actually quiet – none of that fake “peaceful oasis” nonsense you read about places right next to tram lines. The building has this understated modern look that doesn’t try too hard, which I appreciated after seeing so many Prague hotels that go overboard with either the communist-era concrete aesthetic or the over-the-top baroque thing. Inside, it’s clean and contemporary without being sterile, if that makes sense. The lobby smells faintly of coffee rather than that generic hotel air freshener, which was a nice touch. Check-in was refreshingly quick – the staff actually seemed to know what they were doing, spoke solid English, and didn’t try to upsell me on anything.
Here’s the thing about the location that most people probably don’t realize: you’re actually perfectly positioned to explore Prague like a local rather than getting stuck in the tourist bubble around Old Town. There’s a solid tram connection that gets you to Wenceslas Square in maybe fifteen minutes, but more importantly, you’re walking distance from some genuinely good neighborhood spots. I found this little hospoda around the corner that served better goulash than half the places in Malá Strana, and the prices were what locals actually pay. The Pankrác area has been developing quite a bit lately – there’s decent shopping nearby and some surprisingly good restaurants that haven’t made it into guidebooks yet. Parking was straightforward too, which anyone who’s tried to drive in central Prague will appreciate. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star – comfortable bed, reliable wifi, bathroom that’s small but functional. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is honestly more than I can say for some supposedly upscale places I’ve stayed in Prague. The 7.8 rating makes perfect sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to actually experience Prague rather than just photograph it, and you don’t need marble bathrooms or a concierge, this place hits the sweet spot between comfort and authenticity.

Good hotel – Naadz from Mauritius – 7 July 2025 (8/10)
Very Clean Hotel, rooms impeccable.
Location is great- Tram station just in front of hotel. Easy to go to city center.
Mall is 7 minutes walk
What could be improved: I requested for a 2 hours late check out which costed 20 Euros. I also booked 2 rooms and requested to cancel one of the rooms which was not accepted. I would have appreciated some flexibility.
Breakfast area looked very dark.Good – Mohamed from Rwanda – 18 June 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: I expected to find drinking water in the room.A solid choice for a comfortable and convenient stay in Prague. – Bennani from Belgium – 3 June 2025 (8/10)
Clean and comfortable rooms with everything you need for a short stay.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Great on-site restaurant and bar serving fresh local food — the owner runs a farm, so ingredients come straight from the source!
Convenient location with a tram stop right outside, making it easy to reach the city center.
Surprisingly quiet, even though it's near a major street.
What could be improved: The exterior of the hotel looks a bit outdated.
Parking is not included.Superb – Manuela from Austria – 24 March 2025 (9/10)
Very nice rooms and excellent breakfast. We have been here before and this year, there was even more choice in the breakfast options, with many different cakes, cereals, etc. We had a spacious room, very quiet in the night. Always happy to come back!
Quite good for the price – Adam from United Kingdom – 13 September 2024 (8/10)
Clean rooms with all the amenities I needed and some extra. Great location. Very kind and helpful staff. Great price. Tasty breakfast.
What could be improved: Sound proofing is quite poor: even with closed door and windows I could hear everything happening in the hallways, outside, and at the floor below. There was also no AC in my room.Great location for our visit to Prague. – Michelle from United Kingdom – 25 August 2024 (8/10)

Staff very friendly and helpful
What could be improved: No air conditioningVery good – Paris from Greece – 29 July 2024 (8/10)
Nice location, clean rooms and very friendly staff!
What could be improved: No air conditioning in the roomPersonal review, hotel is good and I recommend it. – Cristian from Czech Republic – 20 June 2024 (7/10)
If you check the history, I am staying on Oya hotels very often. Overall always happy with the price vs value ratio. Location is great, price is good. Even though weirdly enough I always get a better price over booking than over their own website.
What could be improved: This time around, I got last minute sick and I couldn't travel. I had booked a non-refundable room. Calling the reception, a very uninterested girl, referred me to the application that shows non-refundable.
I am aware of the room I booked, however I was hoping that after coming here for many years, and recently having multiple reservations, about each two weeks at least for one night, there would be some room for flexibility. All I wanted was to move the reservation, not necessarily to get the money back. Answer still no.
Again, this is inline with the policy, but I am a bit disappointed that there was zero flexibility there for a returning customer.Superb – Helene from Czech Republic – 5 April 2024 (9/10)
The room was great, spacious, quiet.
The hotel is close to public transport.
What could be improved: Breakfast could be improved.
