You know what struck me first about Hotel Michael? It’s tucked away on Pod Lysinami, which honestly sounds intimidating if you don’t speak Czech, but it’s actually this quiet residential street that feels worlds away from the tourist chaos down in Old Town. I mean, you’re still only about 15 minutes by tram to get to all the main sights, but when you come back in the evening, it’s like stepping into a completely different Prague – the one where actual people live.

The building itself has this understated elegance that I really appreciated. It’s not trying too hard, if that makes sense. The lobby has these warm wood tones and modern touches without being sterile, and honestly, the check-in was refreshingly smooth. No upselling, no lengthy explanations of obvious things – just efficient and friendly. My room on the third floor had this surprising amount of natural light, which is something you don’t always get in European hotels, especially in a city like Prague where some buildings feel like they’re built on top of each other. The bathroom was actually spacious (I’m talking real counter space for your stuff), and the shower pressure was solid – trust me, after walking around Prague’s cobblestones all day, that matters more than you’d think.

What I loved most was the breakfast situation. They’ve got this bright dining area that catches the morning sun, and while it’s not some massive buffet spread, everything they do have is actually good quality. Real butter, fresh bread that doesn’t taste like cardboard, decent coffee – you know, the basics done right. Plus, the staff seems to remember little things about guests, which is rare these days. The area around the hotel is perfect for evening walks too – there’s this whole network of quiet streets with local pubs and small restaurants where you won’t find a single tour group. I discovered this tiny wine bar just two blocks away that became my regular spot. The only minor thing I’d mention is that some of the rooms facing the courtyard can be a bit dim during winter months, but honestly, with Prague’s architecture, that’s pretty standard. For what you’re paying – and especially compared to the tourist-trap hotels closer to the castle – Hotel Michael delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re staying in Prague rather than just visiting it.

  Everything is great. Good and quite location. A lot of free and secured parking spaces. Great prices.Big room, very good tempreture in the rooms in the winter, very confortable bed.

  this hotel is ideal if you travel by car (free parking always available) and also if you like nature, close to a small forest in Prague.

  The room is nice and clean. Bad comfortable. Breakfast was nice. Public transport nearby. In general, it was very nice .

  Nice room with all components as it should be, comfortable bed, calm area, good price, free parking, nice staff – even cleaning ladies and finally hotel with extra hygienic kits (eyes&ears)
  
  What could be improved: Noise coming through door and I don’t find it hygienic to put hanger for spare toilet paper next to toilet bowl. Location at the end of the world.

  Good service and nice people at the reception. The tram station is 5 minutes from the hotel and the center of Prague is 20-25 minutes by tram.
  
  What could be improved: There should be code of conduct for hotel guests regarding loudness (during the night some hotel guests sit in front of the hotel entrance and talk loudly and no one warns them).

  Clean and comfortable place to spend a night or more. Friendly staff able to understand and speak in English as well. Plenty of parking spaces, very powerful water pressure in the tube, and very tasty breakfast.
