You know what struck me first about Hotel Metamorphis? The location is honestly perfect – like, whoever picked this spot on Týn street really knew what they were doing. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Old Town Square (I mean, you can practically hear the astronomical clock chiming), but here’s the thing – you’re tucked away just enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that plague some of the hotels right on the square itself. I actually stumbled across this place last spring, and even though it’s got four stars, it feels more intimate than those big chain hotels that dominate Prague’s hotel scene.

The building itself has this really lovely restored feel – you can tell they put actual thought into preserving the character instead of just gutting everything and starting over. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully modern, if that makes sense. Not trying too hard to be trendy, but they’ve got everything you actually need (good WiFi, decent shower pressure, blackout curtains that actually work). Honestly, the beds are surprisingly comfortable – I’m picky about mattresses and usually end up with a sore back, but not here. The staff seems to genuinely know Prague well too, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner one night, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the tourist restaurants – he actually gave me a couple local spots that ended up being fantastic.

What really sells me on this place, though, is how it sits in the city. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters (Wenceslas Square is maybe ten minutes on foot, the Jewish Quarter even closer), but Týn street itself stays pretty quiet at night. I’ve stayed in Prague hotels where you’re basically listening to drunk tourists until 3 AM – not an issue here. The 8.6 rating feels about right, actually. It’s not going to blow your mind with over-the-top luxury, but it gets all the important stuff right without any of those annoying little compromises that can ruin a trip. Parking can be tricky in this part of Old Town – well, parking’s tricky everywhere in Prague’s center – but they’ll help you figure out the nearest options if you’re driving. I’d definitely come back, which honestly says more than any fancy amenities list ever could.

  Great location, room was big and cozy, clean facilities and super friendly and helpful staff. I can't comment on the breakfast as we chose not to eat there.
  
  What could be improved: I arrived by car and needed parking. The parking was so tight the staff had to help me get into the space and the morning of checkout I had to wait for the staff to get someone to move vehicles so I could get out of my spot. It wasn't that much of a problem as I was only there for one night and didn't need the car but if I had been staying more than one night and wanted to take the car out to explore other areas it would be a big inconvenience. I will say that this was the only small issue we ran into. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

  Honza and Barbora in reception are very very polite, helpful, super. This was may be 7th stay in this hotel, i like:

  Everything by in this hotel, staff is taking care of all guests and Housekeeping service people are also polite and very good at their jobs

  The room was huge and old style classic. Excellent position right behind the main square and very nice bars and local in the nearby of the hotel.
  
  What could be improved: In the room just the bathroom I prefer the shower rather than bathtub, it wasn't so comfy. They don't serve breakfast but they send you to a bar close to them.

  Really kind and helpful people at the reception. Hotel is really 2 minutes away from the astronomical tower and the city center. Very spacious room.

  Large room, huge bed, huge bathroom with jacuzzi and shower. Very clean. Very quiet. Excellent friendly staff. Excellent location.
  In the room there is a mini-fridge, safe, ironing board and iron, coffee machine. Very warm (you can regulate the heat of the radiators).
  
  What could be improved: Poor dim lighting in the room in the evening. No elevator (for whom it is important). Coffee capsules in the room for 1 Euro (first time we see this – usually free).

  Loved this hotel ! The location perfect. Our room was lovely and so spacious with a huge bed . All the staff were very exceptional , welcoming and extremely helpful, giving us fantastic honest advice about everything in Prague.

  What could be improved: loved having coffee maker but disappointed that there was a charge for pods of 1e each .
  We stay in lots of hotels always have a few free pods .
  Granulated coffee and tea was free but in our view charging for pods is false economy .
