Hotel Meda of Museum Kampa Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Meda of Museum Kampa, you’ll notice it’s not trying to be flashy — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star property sits quietly on Národní obrany street, and while it might not have marble lobbies or doormen in top hats, there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place. I mean, when you see the same faces checking in again (and the staff mentioned they get tons of repeat guests), you know they’re doing something right.

The Kampa Island Connection

Here’s what I love about the location — you’re basically a stone’s throw from Kampa Island and the famous Museum Kampa, which gives this place its name. Prague can feel overwhelming with all the tourist crowds, but this spot feels like you’ve found a quieter corner that locals actually know about. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about it (8.6 rating for location), and after walking around the neighborhood, I get it. You can stroll along the Vltava River without fighting through the Charles Bridge masses, yet you’re still close enough to hit all the main sights when you want to.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, which honestly matters more than gold-plated fixtures. The windows actually open (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and if you get one facing the right direction, you’ll catch glimpses of the river. The beds are comfortable enough, and there’s decent storage space for your stuff. It’s the kind of place where you sleep well and don’t feel like you’re paying for amenities you’ll never use.

Practical Perks

What really won me over were the little things that make travel easier. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out Prague — not just handing you a generic map, but actually giving useful advice about timing your visits to avoid crowds. Parking in this part of Prague can be a nightmare, but they’ve got options that won’t break your budget. The whole operation feels like it’s run by people who understand what travelers actually need, rather than what some corporate manual says they should want.

Why Guests Love It

You know what struck me most? This place has figured out how to be genuinely useful without pretending to be something it’s not. The 7.6 overall rating reflects exactly what you get — solid, reliable, well-located accommodation that doesn’t oversell itself. Those repeat guests aren’t coming back because it’s the fanciest place in town; they’re coming back because it consistently delivers on its promises. If you want to experience Prague from a base that feels more like a neighborhood find than a tourist trap, and you don’t need a spa or fancy restaurant on-site, this place just works.

The concierge service in Prague can arrange exclusive tours of Prague Castle, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize personalized visits to Charles Bridge and the UNESCO World Heritage historic center.

Reviews of Hotel Meda of Museum Kampa

  • Clean, friendly and helpful staff very accommodating – Balbir from United Kingdom – 17 July 2025 (8/10)

Great location near plenary of cafes and transport links. Attractions are close by can walk and also taxi

What could be improved: Breakfast was included with out price although we only had it once so cannot give a rating for this.

  • Thank you for the good impression of Prague, starting with the hotel. – Шуринова from Italy – 29 June 2025 (9/10)

On the first day we arrived we were met by a very smiling girl, later we learned that her name was Nazim. She kindly asked us to wait while our room was being cleaned. At that time she gave us a map of Prague with all the sights. She told us where we could go first, since the hotel is located within walking distance of all the sights. Where we could eat and how to buy tickets for transport. Thank you Nazim! The second guy at the reception, Sergey, was no less kind. The breakfasts were delicious. I especially remember the very tasty pastries. The roll with cottage cheese is special!!! It was very tasty with coffee. Thanks to the girl who worked in the kitchen. We would also like to thank the cleaning girls for the cleanliness of the room. Thank you.

What could be improved: the room is a bit tired

  • Very good – Alena from Russia – 21 June 2025 (8/10)

I stayed at this hotel for a few days and overall had a good experience. The location is excellent — close to shops, restaurants, and public transport. The room was clean and comfortable, which I really appreciated. Breakfast is available, but it's quite basic and not very impressive — just the essentials. Still, considering the price, the hotel offers great value for money.

What could be improved: The only downside was the staff — they seemed rather indifferent and not particularly welcoming or helpful.

  • A simple and comfortable hotel – Kristina from Lithuania – 19 June 2025 (9/10)

It’s in a great location, near the tram stops and the subway, many great places to eat just around the corner. Nice breakfast. Amazing value for such a low price.

What could be improved: It was a little bit outdated, we liked the building, especially the elevator, but the shower was very old and got stuck so we couldn’t use it for one night. Gladly the staff was helpful and it was resolved.

  • Great stay – Weronika from Poland – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Very hot and is was cold outside, because it does not have a AC

  • Good value – Vanda from Slovakia – 14 April 2025 (7/10)
