Hotel Max Overview
Honestly, Hotel Max caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first roll up to Bezdrevská street (which, let’s be real, you’ll probably mispronounce at least three times), it’s this unassuming three-star spot that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The neighborhood’s actually pretty solid – you’re far enough from the tourist chaos of Old Town to breathe, but close enough that you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere. I noticed a few locals grabbing coffee at the little café around the corner, which is always a good sign.
The thing about Hotel Max is that it gets the basics right without any unnecessary fuss. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – no weird hidden fees or awkward upselling attempts. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels more boutique than your typical three-star setup, though you can tell they’ve put thought into making it feel welcoming rather than sterile. My room was on the third floor, and honestly? The soundproofing is better than I expected. Prague can get pretty lively (especially on weekends), but I actually slept well, which doesn’t always happen when I travel. The bathroom was compact but functional – good water pressure, decent lighting for getting ready. You know what really impressed me though? The WiFi actually worked consistently, even during peak evening hours when everyone’s streaming or video calling home.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know their stuff about getting around the city. The guy at the front desk – I think his name was Pavel – gave me solid directions to Wenceslas Square that didn’t involve the main tourist routes, which saved me probably twenty minutes of walking through crowds. The area around the hotel has decent public transport connections too, though you’ll want to grab a transit map because the tram system can be a bit confusing if you’re not used to it. Parking’s available if you’re driving, which isn’t always a given in Prague. I mean, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, and the breakfast selection is pretty standard European continental fare, but sometimes you just want a clean, comfortable base where you can crash after spending the day exploring castles and drinking excellent beer. For the price point and that 7.3 rating, Hotel Max delivers exactly what it promises – no more, no less, and honestly that’s refreshing in a city where it’s easy to get caught up in overpriced tourist traps.

Reviews of Hotel Max
Very good – Andreja from Germany – 11 December 2023 (8/10)
Location is super. Bus station 4.min walking. For Money it is excellent option. Very clean, bed's are comfortable, room was very warm, breakfast also ok.
See Prague on a budget – Ryan from China – 29 July 2023 (8/10)
Very cheap option in the suburbs of Prague. Was very convenient for a one night stay with family.
What could be improved: No breakfast at hotel or options for breakfast within walking distance. Not a problem for us, but a bit difficult for children.Comfortable and well equipped. – Ferenc from Germany – 21 August 2022 (8/10)
Comfortable bed, good quality bedding. Good value for money.
What could be improved: We have got an attic room, but we didn't book it and it wasn't in the pictures either. The attic windows had neither mosquito nets nor darkening. That was really bad. Cleaning was not thorough.Good – Mario from Germany – 29 August 2024 (7/10)
I think, we got the hotel during the renovation. The bathroom was already very nice, the bedroom however, was very frugal. We missed the bed lamps, in the whole room, there was only one ceiling lamp, with uncomfortable light.
Check-In was very easy 🙂Very good and efficient! – Nándor from Hungary – 9 June 2024 (8/10)
.
What could be improved: .Pleasant – Andrej from Slovakia – 3 September 2023 (6/10)
The distance to Letnany Airport and also the staff was nice.
What could be improved: The distance to metro station and also the facilities could be renovated. For 50€ per night in Prague I just expected something more, but it's one of the few hotels in that location, so there weren't many to choose from.Very good – Iryna from Belgium – 12 August 2023 (8/10)
Free parking, tables outside, transport nearby, tea/coffee available in the room
What could be improved: Short beds, quite far from the city center, no elevator. We had two rooms, so needed to pass by room to go to a toilet which is not ideal as we give discomfort or wake up sleeping people in the first roomGood – Jan from Slovenia – 24 May 2023 (7/10)
What could be improved: Without free parking spot
Quiet place to stay with parking possibilities – Dariusz from Poland – 4 May 2023 (8/10)
Nice personel and quiet neighbourhood. Free parking places in front od the hotel and in the area
What could be improved: Quite a long way to city center, but public transport connection is convenientGood – Zboj from Poland – 12 December 2022 (7/10)
Pretty close to bus stop in the main street, rooms are pretty neat.
What could be improved: There was supposed to be a parking, but there is not. Rooms were not clean, dust and hair everywhere.
