Hotel Lifestyle

Prague, Czech Republic
V Lužích 1, Prague, 14200, Czech Republic

Overview

You know what struck me first about Hotel Lifestyle? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it’s not just some marketing nonsense. I mean, this place sits in Prague’s Smíchov district, and honestly, it feels like you’re staying in a neighborhood where actual Czechs live and work, not just tourist central. The address says V Lužích, which translates to something like “in the meadows,” and while there aren’t exactly rolling fields anymore, you get this sense of space that’s pretty rare in Prague. It’s about a 15-minute tram ride to Old Town (the 12 and 20 lines are your friends here), but that distance is actually a blessing – you escape the crowds every evening and get to see how the city really works.

The hotel itself feels solidly four-star without trying too hard to impress you. Check-in was smooth, no drama with parking if you’re driving (which I always worry about in European cities), and the staff spoke that effortless English you find in Prague these days. My room faced the courtyard, so it was properly quiet – none of that street noise that can drive you crazy when you’re trying to recover from walking 20,000 steps around the castle. The breakfast spread was… well, it was good, not amazing, but they had proper Czech pastries alongside the usual international stuff, and the coffee didn’t taste like it came from a machine that’s been neglected for months. I appreciated that they seemed to understand both business travelers and tourists – there were charging stations that actually worked, decent WiFi, and the kind of lighting where you can actually read without squinting.

What really won me over was the location’s practicality. There’s a Tesco literally around the corner (crucial for water bottles and snacks), and you’re walking distance from Anděl, which has this massive shopping center if you need anything serious. But more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly for exploring beyond the tourist bubble – Petřin Hill is close enough for morning runs, and the riverside paths along the Vltava are right there when you want to decompress. The 7.7 rating feels about right, honestly – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on the basics really well. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel less like a tourist and more like someone just living in Prague for a few days. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The room was very comfortable, warm, cozy and clean., It was also kept clean everyday which was great.

What could be improved: Everything was great, except for the restaurant downstairs which could not serve meals. Clients want to eat there especially during winter since it is very accessible.
