Hotel LEON Overview
You know what struck me first about Hotel LEON? It’s tucked away on Ortenovo náměstí in this quiet corner of Prague 7 that most tourists completely miss – which is honestly part of its charm. I mean, you’re not going to stumble across this place while following the crowds to Old Town Square, but that’s exactly why I ended up loving it.
The building itself has this understated Czech character that doesn’t try too hard to impress. It’s a solid 3-star that actually delivers on what it promises, which – let’s be real – isn’t always a given in Prague these days. The lobby’s got this lived-in feel, nothing fancy but clean and welcoming, and the staff actually seem to know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Letná Park (which is basically a pleasant 10-minute walk away), the desk clerk didn’t just point me toward Google Maps – she told me which path to take for the best views and warned me about the weekend farmers market that makes the area busier on Saturdays.
What really won me over was how genuinely local this spot feels. You’re in Holešovice, which means you’re surrounded by actual Prague life instead of souvenir shops and overpriced tourist traps. There’s a decent tram connection that gets you to the center in about 15 minutes, but honestly, I found myself wanting to hang around the neighborhood more than I expected. The area’s got this emerging food scene – there’s a fantastic Vietnamese place two blocks down that locals pack every evening, and a coffee roastery that probably sources better beans than most places in Malá Strana.
The rooms are… well, they’re what you’d expect from a well-run 3-star. Nothing Instagram-worthy, but the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms work properly, and – this matters more than you might think – the windows actually keep out street noise. I slept better here than I did at that boutique place near Wenceslas Square that cost twice as much. The WiFi’s reliable too, which saved me when I needed to sort out some work stuff.
I’ll be honest, if you’re the type who needs to be stumbling distance from the Astronomical Clock, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to experience Prague like someone who actually lives here, while still being able to hit all the major sights without much hassle, Hotel LEON hits that sweet spot. The 8.1 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does well. Plus, you’ll save enough money to actually enjoy some of those legendary Czech dinners instead of blowing your budget on accommodation.
Hotels in Prague offer guests the perfect blend of Gothic grandeur and modern comfort, with many featuring traditional Czech beer concierge services and medieval architecture to enhance the authentic Central European cultural experience.

Good location. The room was spacious. Comfy and wide beds. Quite ok breakfast. Paid parking on the streets and fortunately the online parking instructions are quite understandable.
