Hotel Klara Overview
You know what struck me first about Hotel Klara? It’s this quietly confident little place that doesn’t try too hard – which honestly feels refreshing in Prague where so many hotels are either trying to be grand palaces or quirky boutique spots. The building sits on Šternberkova, and I mean, you’re not going to stumble across this street by accident, but that’s actually part of its charm. It’s tucked away in Smíchov, which locals know is where you go when you want to be close to everything without paying Old Town prices or dealing with those crowds of tourists taking selfies every five meters.
The rooms are what I’d call properly comfortable – nothing flashy, but everything works the way it should. The beds are actually decent (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms have that solid, no-nonsense feel where you don’t worry about the shower pressure or whether the hot water will last. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re still in the city. There’s something about the way the building’s positioned that just… blocks out most of the street noise. The staff runs things smoothly too – check-in was quick, they knew the neighborhood well enough to give real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. One guy at the front desk told me about this little pub around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise.
Here’s the thing about staying in Smíchov – you’re a quick tram ride from Wenceslas Square, but you’re also walking distance from Petřín Hill if you want those postcard views without the Castle crowds. The Anděl metro station is close enough that getting around Prague becomes pretty effortless, and honestly, that matters more than being right in the thick of things where you’ll pay twice as much for half the space. Hotel Klara gets this balance right. It’s the kind of place where you check in, drop your bags, and think “okay, this works” – then you go explore the city and actually look forward to coming back at the end of the day. For a 3-star hotel, it punches above its weight, and that 8-rating makes sense once you’re there. Not every place needs to reinvent hospitality; sometimes you just want a hotel that does the basics really well and lets Prague be the star of the show.

Room was good , clean and spacious .
What could be improved: Bit far away from the City center . There are no lights when you walk in the staircase which is very weird , especially when it is night time .I had to turn on my mobile torch to walk through . Try to keep a fridge if possible as it helps during summer time to store your drinks
