Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Karlova Prague? Walking up to the entrance on Mostecká street, you’re literally in the heart of Lesser Town – I mean, you’re maybe two minutes from Charles Bridge, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that clog up the main drag. The building itself has that perfectly weathered Prague charm, honey-colored stone that catches the afternoon light just right. Actually, the whole street feels like stepping back in time, which sounds cheesy but honestly, when you’re jet-lagged and stumbling off a train, there’s something pretty magical about it.
Inside, they’ve done this interesting thing where they’ve kept all the character – those impossibly thick walls, original wooden beams in some rooms, floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a 14th-century building – but updated everything that actually matters. The wifi works (shocking for a historic building in Prague), the bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and the beds are legitimately comfortable. I stayed in one of the rooms facing the courtyard, which meant it was dead quiet at night – no small feat when you’re this close to the action. The room wasn’t huge, but honestly, who spends time in their hotel room in Prague anyway? What I appreciated was the little touches: good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and – this might sound silly – but proper hangers in the closet. You’d be surprised how many European hotels still give you those weird plastic things.
The real selling point, though, is the location. Walk out the front door and hang a left, you’re at Charles Bridge in literally three minutes. Hang a right and you’re climbing up toward Prague Castle – the back way, which means fewer crowds and better photo ops. There’s this little wine bar called Lobkowicz Palace Wine Bar about five minutes away that most tourists never find, and honestly, the hotel staff will point you toward spots like that if you ask. They seem to actually know the neighborhood, which isn’t always a given. The only thing I’d warn you about is that if you’re driving, forget about parking nearby – but really, if you’re staying here, you’re walking everywhere anyway. During peak season (basically May through September), book early because this place fills up fast, and I can see why. It’s got that sweet spot thing going on where you feel like you discovered something special, even though you’re right in the middle of everything. Plus, at a 9 rating, you know they’re doing something right – and after staying there, I’d say it’s earned.

The location is perfect. It’s in the quieter part of the bridge, so you can have a good rest at night and be 15 min walk to everywhere.
What could be improved: The white light of the room, yellow daylight lights would be cosier.Guadalupe from Spain – 30 March 2025 (8/10)
I liked the size of the room. it was easy to make the check-in when you paid beforehand and the location. The only thing was that it could be noisy until 1am because my room was over a very busy street, but, afterwards it was very quiet.

Location was perfect, 20m from the King Charles Bridge and only 100m from the nearest tram stop. Room was perfect for our family of four, the separate bedroom allowed for the kids to have their own space. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the check in was turn key. 10/10 would recommend

the location was incredible, 30 seconds walk from charles bridge which is the main attraction bridge to the other side of the city and 15 mins from the castle. the bed was very comfy and very large, the general apartment was spacious and great for two people. very convenient way of accessing the property and room as no need for keys just a passcode.
What could be improved: only small small complaint if any is it can be loud at night if you’re facing the main street, however the nose quieted down a lot by about 11pm and it was not at all a major issue. honestly no real complaints at all!Fiach from Ireland – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
Unbelievable location, and to go with that the value was brilliant everything considered.
Spacious room, everything you need, clean and comfortable, 2 mins from Charles Bridge, excellent value, super communication from the hotel in advance of staying. Couldn’t have asked for better!
What could be improved: The reception is at a different location on the opposite side of the bridge. Wasn’t an issue, just something I hadn’t experienced.Jeanette from United States – 9 March 2025 (9/10)
It is very comfortable and an excellent location.
What could be improved: Hearing doors slam shut from the other apartments.Michelle from Ireland – 1 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: far from local essentialsJane from United Kingdom – 16 February 2025 (9/10)
Location is superb. Extremely clean, warm and comfy apartment. One separate bedroom that was a good double and then a double bed in a general lounge area. This configuration suited us fine. Spacious. Great shower room. Really good communication. At the back of the property so no street noise. Definitely stay here again x
What could be improved: Was aware in advance no proper kitchen facilities so it was fine. Did have fridge and kettle. This apartment would be fantastic if had oven and hob…. more of a kitchen even in lounge/bedroom area.Zhou from Ireland – 14 February 2025 (9/10)
