Hotel ILF Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel ILF? The location is actually pretty brilliant, even though it doesn’t scream “tourist hotspot” at first glance. It’s tucked away on Budějovická, which honestly sounds intimidating when you’re trying to pronounce it, but here’s the thing – you’re literally a five-minute walk to the Budějovická metro station. I mean, that’s the green line that shoots you straight into Old Town in about fifteen minutes, and you’ll skip all the crowds stumbling around Wenceslas Square trying to find their hotels.

The building itself has that slightly worn Eastern European charm that I’ve come to appreciate – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, you know? The lobby smells faintly of coffee and that particular cleaning product that seems universal to mid-range hotels, but in a comforting way. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (I was expecting the usual Prague bureaucracy), and the staff actually spoke decent English without that exhausted look you sometimes get in tourist areas. What really sold me was discovering the neighborhood – there’s this little Vietnamese restaurant around the corner that the receptionist recommended, and honestly, some of the best pho I’ve had outside of Asia. The whole Budějovická area has this authentic Prague vibe where actual locals live and work, not just tourists taking Instagram photos.

The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place – clean, functional, with those heavy European curtains that actually block out light (thank god, because Prague summer sunrises are no joke). The shower pressure is decent, which I always mention because you never know in older buildings. Street noise isn’t really an issue since you’re off the main tourist drag, though you’ll hear the occasional tram rumbling by – but that’s Prague for you, and honestly, it becomes white noise after the first night. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and the whole area felt refreshingly normal compared to the circus downtown. You’ve got a Tesco nearby for grabbing snacks or whatever you forgot to pack, and the walk to the Pankrác business district is totally doable if you’re here for work. The 8.1 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it gets everything right that actually matters when you’re traveling. If you want to experience Prague like someone who lives here rather than just visiting, this spot gives you that local perspective while still being incredibly convenient for seeing all the tourist stuff when you want to.

Hotels in Prague offer guests the perfect blend of Gothic grandeur and modern comfort, with many featuring traditional Czech beer concierge services and medieval architecture to enhance the authentic Central European cultural experience.

Reviews of Hotel ILF

  • Good – Halder from India – 14 July 2025 (7/10)

Cleaned and maintained, breakfast was so good

What could be improved: They don't allow to take water from their restaurants , which is quite awkward because I don't feel good in drinking water from the bathroom tap

  • Superb – Mulay from India – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

    Location

  • Simple yet clean hotel with generous parking possibilities – Róbert from Slovakia – 30 January 2025 (7/10)

  • Very good – Marko from Serbia – 24 September 2024 (8/10)

Quite part of town. Nice location, close to metro station.

What could be improved: A bit old fashioned, some upgrade to 21. century style hotel could make it more attractive.

  • Good – Kseniia from United States – 3 June 2024 (7/10)

Clean, okay location (seemed safe, but far from the center as you can see from the map), breakfast was okay

  • Overall is good. But it really needs a renovation and AC is must. – Chi from Malaysia – 16 May 2024 (7/10)

Location is good and just opposite metro station. Breakfast is awesome with variety of choices

  • Very good – Aner from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 16 May 2024 (8/10)

Easy to get to city as you have direct metro line close to the hotel. Also a lot of shops in really near. Staff was super nice.

What could be improved: Pillows were really uncomfortable and the overall look of the room is pretty old.

  • Simple good hotel, well located, great breakfast and stuff – Kateryna from Ukraine – 12 May 2024 (9/10)

Breakfast was very good, I also liked the stuff, clean and comfortable, very simple, but nice hotel, located in 30 minutes by metro from the city center

  • Very good – Thomas from United Kingdom – 21 April 2024 (8/10)

Breakfast starting at 6:30 on Saturday.

  • Great option if you are looking for a place to stay during a business trip. – Nazar42 from Ukraine – 23 February 2024 (8/10)

It's very close to the subway station. Friendly stuff. Great meals in the restaurant. Good quality breakfast. Separate spacious parking.

What could be improved: A bit oldish interior. No EV charger in the parking.
