Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Prague over the years, and Hotel Garden Court honestly surprised me – in the best way possible. When you first walk up to number 17 on Spálená Street, it doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of those flashy hotels near Old Town Square. Instead, it’s got this understated elegance that feels very Prague, you know? The building itself has that classic Central European charm, and once you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between being polished and feeling authentic. The rooms – well, mine faced the courtyard and it was surprisingly quiet considering you’re literally in the heart of New Town. I mean, Spálená can get busy during the day since it connects to all the main shopping areas, but once evening hits, it settles down nicely. The staff actually knew things about the neighborhood too, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about getting to Petřin Hill (because honestly, the castle views from up there beat the crowded ones from Charles Bridge), the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the tourist tram – he told me about the walking path that starts just five minutes away near the Hunger Wall ruins.

Here’s what I really appreciated: they’ve kept things genuine without trying to be trendy. The breakfast room overlooks this little internal garden space (hence the name, I guess), and there’s something really pleasant about starting your morning there instead of in some generic hotel dining hall. You’re close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square in about eight minutes, but far enough from the absolute chaos of the tourist center that you can actually think straight. Plus – and this matters if you’re planning to explore beyond the obvious stuff – you’re walking distance from some of Prague’s better local spots. There’s this little wine bar called Bokovka just around the corner that most guidebooks miss completely, and the whole Národní Street area has been getting really interesting lately with new galleries and cafés that aren’t just tourist traps. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you stay here; it’s one of those places that delivers exactly what it promises without any weird surprises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to actually experience a city instead of just checking boxes off a list.

  the hotel is in a great location for a short walk in to the city centre.the rooms were to a high standard of cleanliness and the staff were extremely polite and helpful
  the breakfast option was also good.there was plenty of options from hot food to fruit,cereal and coffee and juices

  Everything was excellent. For me important things are location and cleaning. And they were best. We used transport 2 times. From main station to the hotel. Actually you can go by walk. But we had luggage and that is why we used tram. Tram station is so close to the hotel. We used metro and bus to airport. It was also comfortable. Because we used elevator when we entered to the metro.
  Size of room was good.
  I think wardrobe was not suitable for puffer jackets. But for other clothes it is good.

  We loved the fact that this hotel, of all of the hotels in our European trip, was the closest to downtown and tour sites. The place was amazing, great staff, clean room, and they were also able to accommodate us for an extra night. The breakfast was also very good but the are is a bit crammed. They gave all all the pillows we wanted and the bathroom was amazing.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast area was small and wherever we decided to sit people would always bump into our chairs.

  We loved its location, spotlessly clean, friendly staff and our room was incredible . The breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice. We travel a lot but this hotel would take some beating for us.

  Good location, suite was lovely and large. Spacious with high ceilings. Spotlessly clean and lovely decor
  
  What could be improved: Only issue with the suite was it was situated at the front / street side of the property. Be aware that trams operate regularly and are noisy during the night.
