Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first rolled up to Hotel Florenc on Křižíkova, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the exterior. It’s got that practical Eastern European vibe going on, you know? But here’s the thing about Prague hotels: sometimes the best ones are hiding in plain sight, and Florenc is definitely one of those pleasant surprises that grows on you.

The location is actually pretty genius once you figure out the neighborhood. You’re basically sitting between Old Town and the happening Karlín district – close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square in about 15 minutes, but far enough from the tourist madness that you can actually sleep at night. The Florenc metro station is right there (hence the name, obviously), which means you can hop on the yellow line and be at the castle in no time. What I really appreciated was being near that stretch of the Vltava where locals actually jog and walk their dogs – it feels like real Prague instead of theme park Prague, if that makes sense.

The rooms themselves surprised me in the best way. For a 3-star place, they’ve clearly put some thought into the details – decent shower pressure (always a gamble in older Prague buildings), blackout curtains that actually work, and surprisingly comfortable beds. The breakfast room has this retro charm that could either feel dated or cozy, and honestly, it leans cozy. They do a proper Czech breakfast spread too, not just sad croissants and instant coffee. I mean, you’re not getting luxury spa vibes here, but the staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right. The front desk folks spoke solid English and actually knew their neighborhood – they pointed me toward this little wine bar on Sokolovská that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, no drama with the key cards, and the WiFi actually worked throughout the building (you’d be amazed how many Prague hotels still struggle with that). The 8.8 rating makes total sense when you consider what you’re paying versus what you’re getting – it’s that sweet spot where everything just works without any pretense about being something it’s not.

  • A nice stay at a perfect location, great value for money – Valya from Germany – 25 June 2025 (8/10)

The location is perfect, very close to the metro and the central bus station. There are lots of restaurants and minimarket around. The room is quite spacious with comfy beds and huge windows. Although the street in front of the hotel is quite busy, it’s not too loud in the room. The breakfast is nice as well although there isn’t too much variety.

What could be improved: Only minor remarks: the carpet floor feels a bit old and has some spots, giving it a bit of an outdated look. The pedestrian zone in front of the hotel is made out of cobblestones so if you travel with a huge luggage it might be soightly uncomfortable to drag.
