Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Hotel Energie on Plzeňská street, you immediately get the sense this is a place that knows its regulars — and honestly, that’s exactly what it is. This three-star property has that comfortable, unpretentious vibe that makes you feel settled from the moment you check in. The lobby isn’t trying to impress anyone with marble and chandeliers, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the straightforward approach they take here.

Location & Getting Around

You’re about 15 minutes from Prague‘s city center by tram, which actually works out perfectly — close enough to easily explore the tourist spots, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the crowds and noise every single night. The Plzeňská area has this authentic residential feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily routines. There’s a decent grocery store within walking distance, and I mean, having your own parking spot right at the hotel? That’s honestly a game-changer if you’re driving — most places in Prague will charge you extra or make you hunt for street parking.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was clean and functional — nothing fancy, but everything worked properly, which you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case. The beds are actually quite comfortable, and the bathroom had good water pressure (always a relief when traveling). What I appreciated most was the attention to small details — proper blackout curtains, enough outlets near the bed, and a decent-sized desk if you need to get some work done. The furnishings are modern and well-maintained throughout.

What Makes It Special

Here’s the thing about Hotel Energie — it’s got this loyal following of repeat guests, and once you stay here, you kind of understand why. The staff genuinely remembers people, and there’s this relaxed efficiency to how everything runs. The restaurant serves solid Czech comfort food without any pretense, and the portions are generous. It’s the kind of place where couples seem to really click with the atmosphere — I noticed quite a few pairs who looked completely at ease, probably because there’s no pressure to be anywhere or do anything except enjoy each other’s company.

Why Guests Love It

What keeps people coming back isn’t flashy amenities or Instagram-worthy spaces — it’s the reliability and genuine hospitality. You know what you’re getting here, and it’s consistently good. The value is solid for what you pay, especially considering that private parking situation and the fact that you’re still well-connected to everything Prague has to offer. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like a comfortable base than a destination itself, Hotel Energie delivers exactly that without any unnecessary fuss. The hotel maintains high standards of cleanliness and service quality.

Nice one night stay

It is the first time we used this place and it was OK - we stayed just one night. The staff was friendly. You can see the hotel could use a little renovation work, but there is nothing to really complain about except maybe that opening windows was really hard to get done.
The location is OK, there are 2 tram stations at the same distance, but make sure you use Motol station and not Krematorium Motol. You're in the Prague center in approx. 25 minutes from the station.
The room was nice and clean, the bathroom was renovated and clean but there could be more shower gel. There is a little fridge in the room also.
We could park in front of the hotel for free, there was a security guard near the hotel. Not sure if he was there all night ;)
The self service breakfast was basic but it was good.

What could be improved: No air conditioning

The room features were in hotel standard but the staff not.

Cleanness, room’s view, room temperature, bath, bed

What could be improved: 1) They charged us 4 € extra for city tax, while the girl on the reception even didn’t explain why she charged us more than the room price, when I asked she answered unfriendly, I also couldn’t find any thing about city-tax in hotel description, how much is or why we should pay!!!

2) The girl on the Reception on 11th of may and also staff in breakfast area
