Hotel Energie Overview
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Hotel Energie on Plzeňská, I wasn’t expecting much – the street’s pretty busy and lined with those typical Prague apartment blocks. But you know what? This little 3-star surprised me in all the right ways. The building itself has this understated charm that grows on you, and once you’re inside, there’s a warmth that immediately puts you at ease.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Prague at all. Sure, you’re not right in the tourist chaos of Old Town (which is honestly a blessing), but you’re perfectly positioned on one of the main arteries heading into the city center. The tram connections are fantastic – I mean, you can get pretty much anywhere without dealing with the maze of narrow streets in the historic district. Plus, there’s this authentic neighborhood feel around here that most visitors never experience. You’ve got local pubs, decent grocery stores, and real Prague life happening just outside your door. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to navigate a city that can be pretty overwhelming.
What really won me over was the attention to small details that matter when you’re actually living out of a hotel room for a few days. The rooms are clean and comfortable – not fancy, but everything works properly (you’d be surprised how rare that can be). The beds are actually good for sleeping, the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. I stayed during a busy summer period and was worried about street noise, but the windows do a solid job of keeping things quiet at night. The breakfast setup is simple but fresh, and the coffee’s better than you’d expect from a mid-range place. Parking can be a bit tricky on Plzeňská itself, but the hotel staff pointed me toward some side streets where it’s easier – that kind of local knowledge that shows they actually care about your experience. The 7.8 rating feels about right to me; it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re looking for a solid base in Prague that won’t break the bank and puts you in touch with the real city rather than just the postcard version, Hotel Energie gets the job done really well.

Reviews of Hotel Energie
Nice one night stay – Goran_rr from Slovenia – 14 July 2025 (8/10)
It is the first time we used this place and it was OK – we stayed just one night. The staff was friendly. You can see the hotel could use a little renovation work, but there is nothing to really complain about except maybe that opening windows was really hard to get done.
The location is OK, there are 2 tram stations at the same distance, but make sure you use Motol station and not Krematorium Motol. You're in the Prague center in approx. 25 minutes from the station.
The room was nice and clean, the bathroom was renovated and clean but there could be more shower gel. There is a little fridge in the room also.
We could park in front of the hotel for free, there was a security guard near the hotel. Not sure if he was there all night 😉
The self service breakfast was basic but it was good.
What could be improved: No air conditioningThe room features were in hotel standard but the staff not. – Soleimani from Germany – 12 May 2025 (7/10)
Cleanness, room’s view, room temperature, bath, bed
What could be improved: 1) They charged us 4 € extra for city tax, while the girl on the reception even didn’t explain why she charged us more than the room price, when I asked she answered unfriendly, I also couldn’t find any thing about city-tax in hotel description, how much is or why we should pay!!!
2) The girl on the Reception on 11th of may and also staff in breakfast areaGreat hotel, very clean and nice. – Ioan from Romania – 24 December 2024 (9/10)
Cleanliness
What could be improved: LocationSuperb – Niko from Slovakia – 18 December 2024 (9/10)
Accommodation is close to public transport, bus, tram stops, close to the center. Located in Prague 5 Motol. And from the room there is a beautiful view of Prague at night. Comfortable beds and the hotel is in a quiet area.
Great value! – Nikola from Serbia – 25 November 2024 (9/10)
The hotel is in a good location. You have a tram close by that will take you directly to the city center. You can buy the tickets for the tram on reception for a regular price. Free secure parking. Plenty of spaces.
Breakfast was really great. It had everything that you would need. The staff was very polite.
The room had comfortable beds and heating was working flawlessly. All in all this was a great value!
What could be improved: In our room the bathroom had a clogged sink and the water was going away very slowly. We couldn't open the window because those were barred with screws. Still luckily it was not suffocating probably because ventilation in the bathroom did a good job to prevent that. The room doesn't have AC so in summer this could be a bad option.Superb – Paul from United Kingdom – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
Great position for taking the tram into the stunningly beautiful city of Prague.
Good choice of food for breakfast.Nice hotel for reasonable price – Bohuslava from Belgium – 8 August 2024 (9/10)
Renovated clean room with a nice shower. A breakfast that is included in the price was great, enough choices (ham, cheese, jams, cereals, pies, juice, coffee, tea, sausages, eggs, fruits..).
Easy to reach the airport by taxi.
What could be improved: The fan in the bathroom was too loud – when you switch off the light it does not stop working directly, therefore it can be disturbing during night. If you however take out and then insert back the card of the room the problem is solved.
No air condition.Amazing Location – Varbah from Germany – 2 August 2024 (9/10)
I will that everything about the hotel wasgreat, the location and the breakfast. Easy to go to the City Center by Tram or bus.
Superb – Marko from Croatia – 9 July 2024 (9/10)
Everything was basic and expected. Clean rooms, solid breakfast, close to tram.
What could be improved: No air-condition.Very good – Gabriella from Italy – 31 May 2024 (8/10)
Very nice and quiet location, even if a bit far away from the city centre, but well connected by tram (9 or 10) and buses. The room was very large and clean, nice breakfast!
