Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel Duo on Teplicka street, I wasn’t expecting much. The address puts you in Prague 9, which isn’t exactly the postcard part of the city, but you know what? Sometimes the best finds are where you least expect them. This place turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel a bit smug about discovering something good.

The thing about staying here is that you’re actually in a pretty smart spot if you know Prague at all. Sure, you’re not stumbling out your front door onto Charles Bridge, but the metro connection at Vysočanská is literally a few minutes’ walk, and honestly, that gets you to Old Town faster than you’d manage from some of the “centrally located” hotels where you’re fighting tourist crowds just to reach public transport. I mean, the tram line runs right there too – super convenient for getting around without dealing with Prague’s sometimes chaotic traffic. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel that I actually prefer to the theme-park atmosphere of Malá Strana. There’s a decent grocery store nearby (trust me, you’ll want to grab some of those amazing Czech pastries), and the local pubs are… well, let’s just say they serve proper Pilsner at prices that won’t make you weep.

What really got me about Hotel Duo was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between professional service and not feeling overly formal. The rooms are genuinely comfortable – not just hotel-brochure comfortable, but the kind where you actually sleep well and don’t mind spending time there during the day. The beds are properly firm, the shower pressure is excellent (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in Prague), and they’ve got this nice balance of modern amenities without trying too hard to be trendy. The breakfast situation is solid too – actual variety, not just the usual continental stuff, and the coffee doesn’t taste like it’s been sitting around since the Velvet Revolution. I stayed there during shoulder season in October, and the whole place had this relaxed vibe – staff knew your name after a day, no rushing around, and you could actually have a conversation at the front desk without feeling like you’re holding up a line. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs absolute silence to sleep, the street can get a bit busy during morning rush hour, but it’s Prague – nowhere’s completely quiet, and this is honestly pretty peaceful compared to the center. That 8.5 rating makes complete sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does everything well without any major flaws, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  We stayed here for three nights. Staffs are very nice and supportive. Oue room is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is great. Highly recommended.

  I liked that the rooms were clean and standard and quiet. We had a good view from the room. The lobby had a nice bar and the restaurant was good. The one thing i think that needs to be improved was the variety of breakfast it and quality of some items like the juices . Other than that everything was nice and i did enjoy my time and will be coming back.

  Absolutely incredible bang for the buck hotel. We got the superior double bed room and were amazed at how nice and clean they were. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was spotless. The included breakfast was great, with a lot of options. Dinner at the hotel was exceptional, with a lot of quality choices.
  
  The best thing is the staff – they are so kind and helpful, we've never seen such staff anywhere else. One staff member I'd really like to shout-out is Kirill at the reception. He was super excited for us, gave us some incredible recommendations for places to visit, explained us the city and overall seems to be a top notch worker. Our trip would truly not be the same without Kirill. We'll be sure to book again.
