Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Hotel Clement? The building itself – it’s this gorgeous Art Nouveau piece that somehow manages to feel both grand and approachable at the same time. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Náměstí Republiky, which honestly puts you in the sweet spot where you can stumble back from Old Town Square without needing a taxi, but you’re not dealing with the constant tourist chaos right outside your window. The location on Klimentská is actually pretty clever – it’s one of those streets that locals use as a shortcut, so you get this authentic Prague energy without feeling like you’re trapped in a postcard.

The staff here actually gets it, if that makes sense. When I checked in, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a key card and rattle off breakfast hours – he pulled out this little neighborhood map and marked his favorite coffee spot (it’s this tiny place called Café Savoy, totally worth the ten-minute walk) and warned me that the trams get packed around 8 AM if I was planning any early morning adventures. The rooms have this interesting mix going on where they’ve kept some of the original architectural details – these beautiful high ceilings and ornate moldings – but updated everything else so you’re not wrestling with ancient plumbing or pretending a radiator from 1920 is “charming.” I stayed on the third floor and honestly, the view toward Prague Castle in the distance was pretty spectacular, especially in that golden hour light that makes every building in this city look like it’s posing for a painting.

What really sold me on this place though was how it felt after a long day of walking around. You know that exhausted-but-happy feeling you get after climbing up to the castle and wandering through Wenceslas Square for hours? The lobby here has this calm, almost library-like atmosphere where you can actually decompress – there’s this subtle classical music playing and the lighting is warm without being dim. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the elevator is surprisingly quiet, which matters more than you’d think when you’re coming back late and don’t want to feel like you’re waking up the entire building. The breakfast spread was solid too – proper Czech pastries alongside the usual hotel fare, and the coffee was strong enough to fuel another day of cobblestone navigation. I’d definitely stay here again, especially since the 8.8 rating feels spot-on – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but it nails all the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city like this.

  • Renars from Latvia – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

A very good 4-star hotel! The rooms are clean and in great condition. Breakfast is delicious every morning, offering eggs, bacon, sausages, grilled vegetables, as well as pastries, fruits, and cereals. The hotel is located in a quiet area in the city center, making it easy to walk everywhere you need. Keep in mind that when checking in, you will need to pay the city tax, which is standard in Prague.

What could be improved: The only small downside for me was the pillows. I often have issues with hotel pillows, and here they were too soft and large for my preference. But that’s just a personal preference.
