Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Hotel Bologna on Konviktská, I almost missed it. It’s tucked into this narrow street that most tourists rush past on their way to Old Town Square, but that’s actually part of its charm. The building has that understated Prague elegance you see all over Lesser Town, though technically you’re right in the heart of everything here.
What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually remember guests’ names after one night. I mean, Prague hotels can feel pretty impersonal sometimes, but this place feels more like… well, not exactly boutique, but definitely not corporate either. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – nothing revolutionary, but the beds are genuinely comfortable and the bathrooms are properly updated. You know what surprised me though? How quiet it stays at night, even though you’re literally a five-minute walk from Wenceslas Square. I think it’s because Konviktská doesn’t really lead anywhere tourists need to go, so there’s no foot traffic after dinner hours.
The location thing is actually pretty perfect if you think about it – you can walk to the astronomical clock without dealing with the chaos of staying right on top of it, and there’s this little market on Havelská just around the corner where locals actually shop. Plus (and this matters if you’re planning to explore beyond the center), the Národní třída metro station is basically next door. I watched people struggle with their luggage on the cobblestones from other hotels, but here you can actually get a taxi right to the entrance. The front desk guy mentioned they work with a reliable driver too, which honestly saved me from the whole “is this taxi driver ripping me off” anxiety when I needed to get to the airport early. That 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s the kind of place that doesn’t blow you away with flashy stuff, but everything just… works. And in Prague, where some hotels feel like they’re coasting on the city’s beauty alone, that attention to actual service stands out more than you’d think.
Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.

Wonderful hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Cracking breakfast selection too.
What could be improved: Nothing it was greatCarrie from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (9/10)
Great location very close to everything. Breakfast was delicious and included bacon and sausages so better than most hotel breakfasts. The check in staff were very friendly and the room was cleaned to a high standard every day. They also allowed early check in which was great.
What could be improved: The walls were paper thin and could hear people talking in the next room through them. One of the nights I was woken and kept up with drunk people running about the corridor and shouting so I’d say bring ear plugs.Laurence from Switzerland – 31 March 2025 (9/10)
Great location in the heart of the Old Town but very quiet street, within 10 minutes of the riverside

Really enjoyable stay at the beautiful Bologna, a nice hotel with friendly staff. We treated ourselves to a roof top apartment and the views of the city were great. Great quiet location fab bar next door 😊 only quibble could have done with our breakfast tea bags being replenished, but actually buffet breakfast 4 stars.

Hotel Bologna was very close to the old town of Prague and this made our trip very easy. The hotel was very comfortable and clean. We were also allowed to check in before the scheduled check in time as the rooms were ready. The breakfast was very good, with a variety of foods. We really enjoyed Hotel Bologna and it would be a pleasure to come back again.
