The location is actually pretty brilliant because you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with hen parties stumbling past your window at 2 AM.

The building itself has that classic Central European thing going on where it looks properly historic from the outside but inside they’ve done this interesting mix of old and new. I mean, you’ll find original architectural details—think high ceilings and those beautiful moldings—but the rooms feel updated without being sterile. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing, which is refreshing after some of the hit-or-miss service you get at Prague hotels that are basically just cashing in on the tourist boom. When I checked in, the guy at reception actually gave me specific recommendations for restaurants in Vinohrady (not the obvious touristy spots) and knew which tram lines were running late that week.

What I really appreciated was how the place felt… well, sort of grown-up without being stuffy. The 7.6 rating makes sense to me—it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s solid and comfortable, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. The rooms are a decent size by European standards, and the beds are actually good (I’m picky about this stuff).
