The moment you walk up Jánský vršek – and yes, it’s a bit of an uphill climb from the main tourist drag – you realize you’ve stumbled onto one of those perfectly preserved medieval streets that most visitors never find. The hotel sits right there at number 4, tucked into what feels like a secret corner of Lesser Town, where the cobblestones are original and the morning light hits the baroque facades just right.

What struck me first wasn’t the lobby or the usual hotel stuff, but how quiet it gets once you’re inside. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Prague Castle (uphill, but worth it), yet somehow the thick walls block out all that tourist chatter. The rooms have this authentic old-world feel without being stuffy about it – exposed beams, yes, but also proper heating and blackout curtains that actually work. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, too. When I asked about getting to Kampa Island without dealing with the Charles Bridge crowds, the desk clerk drew me a little map showing the back route through Maltézské náměstí that locals use.

Here’s what you should know practically speaking: parking is tricky (welcome to Prague’s historic center), but they’ll sort you out with options nearby. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you experience their attention to small details – fresh pastries at breakfast that aren’t just hotel buffet stuff, and they actually remember your name after the first night. You’re perfectly positioned for exploring both sides of the river without staying in the chaos of Old Town Square, plus Petřin Hill is right there when you need to escape the crowds entirely. It’s one of those places where the location does half the work – authentic Prague neighborhood feel, but you can still walk to everything that matters.

  The hotel is fantastic. I did especially liked the breakfast. It is rarely when the breakfast differs from day to day. The personnel is also lovely and tries to do more than they are required to. That is the beauty of small hotels, that every guest is special for them.

  Super comfortable bed and spacious rooms 🙂
  The hotel is in a great location, away from the teouble and very safe bit still near everything
  
  What could be improved: The staff at breakfast told us quite impolite to leave now (11:15) we get it that breakfast buffet closes at 11. So if I get my last coffee and bread at 10:50 I would like to enjoy it. I would propose that staff reminds guests around 10:50 that they are closing. But please just let us sit and enjoy the beautiful breakfast room, we aren’t disturbing anyone if we sit a little longer and finish eating 🙂

  Beautiful property, historic building, fully renovated, keeping antique details.

  The facilities of the hotel are beautiful, they are cozy. And the attention of the 10/10 staff supported us with everything we asked of them. Also the breakfasts were very tasty. The truth is that the hotel is magnificent and I highly recommend it ✨🥰
  
  What could be improved: The location of the hotel is a 25 minute walk from the center, but we like to walk so there was no problem, but it is a little far from the center. But it is super easy to get there on foot and I recommend it because that way you get to know the city.
