Hotel At the Green Grape Overview
You know what struck me first about Hotel At the Green Grape? The location is absolutely perfect, but not in that touristy way everyone talks about. It’s tucked up on Jánský Vršek – honestly, I had to ask for directions twice because these old Prague streets don’t exactly follow a grid – but once you find it, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something special. This little cobblestone street feels like a secret, winding up toward the castle district with these gorgeous medieval buildings that actually house real people, not just souvenir shops.
The hotel itself has this wonderful lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake. I mean, you’re staying in what’s essentially a renovated historical building, so expect some quirks – the floors creak in that charming old-world way, and the bathroom in my room was cleverly squeezed into what must have been a closet centuries ago. But honestly, that’s part of the appeal. The staff clearly knows their neighborhood inside and out; the woman at reception gave me walking directions to this tiny wine bar down the hill that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are genuinely comfortable too – good beds, surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the heart of the city, and the WiFi actually works (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in these historic properties).
What really sets this place apart is how it sits right in that sweet spot between the castle and the main town. You can walk to Prague Castle in maybe ten minutes – uphill, sure, but it’s a gentle climb – and when you’re done with the tourist crowds up there, you can wander back down through the Lesser Town and hit all those restaurants and pubs that locals actually frequent. I loved starting my mornings with coffee at their little breakfast area, then heading out to explore before the tour buses arrived. The neighborhood gets busy during the day (you’re definitely going to hear some tourist chatter on the street), but by evening it settles into this peaceful, almost residential vibe. There’s something about falling asleep to the sound of footsteps on cobblestones that just feels right in Prague. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentically Prague without being stuffy or overpriced, and you don’t mind navigating some narrow medieval streets to get there, this is exactly what you want.
Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel at Green Grape! The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. My room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with a smile.
The breakfast was a highlight of my stay—plenty of variety and everything was delicious. On top of that, the staff went above and beyond by offering to prepare a breakfast to-go for my early check-out, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for its great location, clean and cozy rooms, and outstanding service.

We loved our stay !
The room and building of the hotel are amazing .
The only downside is that the curtains are too short and the light comes inside bright and early 😅

Our room was upgraded to the sister hotel across the road (At the White Lily). Friendly staff, beautiful accommodation, and delicious breakfast every morning. Highly recommend staying here while in Prague!

Clean, central but quiet street, friendly and helpful staff. Large room. Excellent choice each day for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay – thank you.
What could be improved: The building is a restored property with wooden floors so you do get a bit of noise of people walking on boards above. Not a big complaint from us.. but if you’re a light sleeper it may be more of an issue.John from United States – 27 November 2024 (9/10)
I had a great stay at the Hotel At the Green Grape.
The location is perfect. It is a short walk from tourist locations like Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge, but the street was quiet and calm. I'm also glad I stayed in Malá Strana rather than the Old City, as it was a little less crowded but still beautiful and central.
The hotel itself was also great. The historic building had a lot of character, and the room was very clean. It was updated, with heated floors in the bathroom. The included breakfast is at the sister hotel just across the street, and it was also very nice.
