Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Hotel Assenzio Prague? The location on Wenzigova – it’s this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Náměstí Míru metro station, which honestly makes getting around the city so much easier than some of those “centrally located” places that dump you in the middle of Old Town madness. The building itself has this understated elegance thing going on – not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but definitely more character than your typical chain hotel.
The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than flashy. You’ll notice the attention to small details – like actually good lighting for reading (thank god, because so many hotels get this wrong) and bathroom fixtures that don’t feel cheap. The beds are properly comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the soundproofing is decent enough that I wasn’t hearing every conversation from the hallway. What I really appreciated was the minibar situation – they’ve got local Czech beers and spirits, including some quality absinthe options which, let’s be honest, feels pretty on-brand for a place called Hotel Assenzio. The staff genuinely seems to know Prague well too, not just the obvious tourist stuff but actual recommendations for where locals eat and drink.
Here’s the thing about this area of Prague – you’re in Vinohrady, which has become this really lovely residential neighborhood with fantastic cafes and restaurants that most tourists never discover. There’s this amazing Vietnamese place called Pho Vietnam Tuan & Lan just around the corner (seriously, Prague’s Vietnamese food scene is incredible), and you’re walking distance from Riegrovy sady, this park where locals hang out and drink beer with probably the best views of the city you’ll find. The hotel’s 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being perfect, and honestly, the imperfections are minor stuff like the elevator being a bit slow or the breakfast selection being decent but not amazing. Check-in was smooth, parking is available if you’re driving (though honestly, you won’t need a car in Prague), and the whole experience just felt… reliable, I guess? Like, you’re not going to have any nasty surprises, but you’re also not paying premium prices for unnecessary luxury touches you don’t actually need.

Maliha from Germany – 9 February 2025 (9/10)
The location, the beahvior of all the stuff personal, the cleanliness of the room and all of these with a reasonable price- the stay here was perfect.
What could be improved: The variety of the breakfast could have been increased, considering the price.Lynsey from United Kingdom – 11 January 2025 (8/10)
The property was clean and welcoming and sure staff were extremely pleasant and very accommodating.
What could be improved: The only criticisms of the property would be the distance from the main centre of Prague and nothing around within close proximity with regards to eating out or even just for a coffee.Denisa from Netherlands – 15 December 2024 (7/10)
Location is very good and the rooms have everything you need.
What could be improved: The Main Street is very loud, you will hear it and feel the room shake even with windows closed. This is the second time we stayed here and both times the thermostat didn’t work.Gordon from Ireland – 27 November 2024 (9/10)
What could be improved: Couple of issues with shower nd sink in bathroom but were sorted promptly. It was an ordeal though to get milk sachets for room considering kettle tea & coffee were supplied in room night porter begrudgingly gave milk saying only this time.
Natalia from Canada – 25 October 2024 (8/10)
The staff was amazing, very helpful, professional, kind and knowledgeable.
The room was great.
The building was very nice, beautifully decorated.
Very quiet room, the towels were changed daily ,and room was made every day.
Good location, close to grocery store, museum, opera and metro station.
What could be improved: When we arrived ,we were provided the room without window and two twin beds instead booked double one.
The shower was quite narrow and uncomfortable for tall people like we are to use.(189 cm) 🙂
The breakfast was very limited variety( the same every day) cold and very poor options for vegetarians.(mushroom and beans) no fruits.Freya from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (8/10)
Really nice hotel room and great price. Location was close to everything and felt very traditional!
What could be improved: Only downside was no tea and coffee facilities in the room but wouldn’t put us off staying again!Mohamed from Qatar – 8 September 2024 (8/10)
– City center, easy walk to most places
– those attending a conference in Prague Congress Center, it's a 10 min (1 Km) walk crossing the bridge
– clean and comfy
– orientals will be happy to know that the bathroom has a bidet
– quite area
What could be improved: – The A/C system was not working properly (but then we discovered this was a problem in all of Prague), luckily they hooked us up with a fan (Shout out to Allison)
– The mini bar was not that cold and the beverages were warm
– the towels have seen better daysMaria from Germany – 23 August 2024 (8/10)
I loved almost everything
What could be improved: No tram station very near but not that far if you like walking
Towels should renew
Some facilities should be explained
In a rush hour should have 2nd person in the reception
Breakfast should have fresh fruits
Air conditioning in reception area and lobby wasn't working
But small details in my overall staying
