Hotel Description
You know, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Hotel AMITY on Jívanská street – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that honestly feels more like where locals live than where tourists usually end up. But that turned out to be exactly what made it special. The building has this understated charm, sort of like your well-traveled aunt’s house if she had really good taste and understood that comfort doesn’t need to shout about itself.
The thing about staying here is that you’re actually in a real Prague neighborhood, not some sanitized tourist bubble. I mean, there’s a proper Czech pub literally around the corner where the waitstaff will look at you funny if you ask for the English menu (in the best way), and the morning sounds are more about trams and people heading to work than tour groups gathering for their castle visits. The rooms themselves hit that sweet spot between functional and cozy – nothing fancy, but everything works the way it should, and the beds are honestly better than what you’d find at places charging twice as much in Old Town. The staff seem to actually live in Prague, which sounds obvious but you’d be surprised how rare that is these days. They’ll tell you which metro stop gets you to the center fastest (Dejvická, by the way) and why you should skip the tourist restaurants near the castle.
What really won me over was how the place just… works without making a big deal about it. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi didn’t cut out every five minutes, and – this might sound weird but it mattered – the hallways didn’t echo with drunk tourists stumbling back at 3 AM. You’re about fifteen minutes from the historic center by tram, but far enough away that you feel like you’re experiencing actual Prague rather than Prague-for-visitors. The neighborhood has that lived-in quality where old ladies walk their tiny dogs and argue with shopkeepers about vegetable prices, and there’s something really grounding about that after a day of being surrounded by other people taking photos of the same stuff. For a three-star place, it punches well above its weight – I’ve stayed at fancier hotels that felt more sterile and less memorable. If you’re the type who values authenticity over Instagram-perfect lobbies, this place gets it right.
Prague hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town Square to elegant castle-view hotels and modern accommodations near Wenceslas Square.

The customer service was really good, and the room was clean. The hotel is located in a quiet environment which is nice specially after a busy day.

The room was not equipped with A/C which might be a challenge in summer time.Very good – Qwandor from United Kingdom – 19 January 2025 (8/10)
