You know what caught me off guard about Holiday home Prague? The address says U Průhonu, which honestly sounds like you’re heading into some residential maze, but it’s actually this sweet spot that feels properly Prague without the tourist circus. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything that matters, but when you step outside, you’re not dodging selfie sticks and tour groups every five minutes.

The place itself has this authentic Czech apartment vibe – and I say that as someone who’s stayed in way too many “authentic” places that turned out to be tourist traps with fake rustic furniture. This one’s different. The rooms feel like someone’s actual home (hence the name, I guess), with real wooden floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a building with some history, but not so much that you’re wondering about structural integrity. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s polished where it needs to be, but there’s character in the details. Actually, the bathroom tiles have this old-school European charm that probably drives some people crazy but I found oddly comforting.

What really sold me was the neighborhood itself. U Průhonu runs along this quieter stretch where you’ll see actual Prague residents walking their dogs and heading to the local potraviny for groceries. There’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that doesn’t feel like a stage set for tourists. The tram connections are solid – honestly better than some of the more “central” places I’ve tried – and you can get to Old Town or Wenceslas Square without the hassle, but also escape back to actual quiet when you need it. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Prague will tell you is basically a minor miracle. The 8.5 rating makes sense when you factor in that you’re getting genuine local flavor without sacrificing comfort. Sure, it’s not going to have a concierge in a fancy uniform or marble everything, but that’s sort of the point. Sometimes you want to feel like you’re living in Prague for a few days rather than just visiting it, you know?

  The check-in was effortless and the receptionist was very friendly. The apartment was basic in decor but super clean and equipped with absolutely everything. It was very hot when I stayed there but a fan had been provided which I appreciated. I would definitely stay there again.

  the space and views out of the room, the helpful staff, and the ease of access, location, shower. everything works perfectly, even the wifi. it feels like a home away from home.
  
  What could be improved: there's no AC which is usually not a big deal because the windows are huge and easy to use to cool the room, but on extrem hot days may not be enough

  The apartment was exactly as advertised. The bed was large and comfortable. The kitchen was functional, hot plates, microwave, fridge/freezer. Nice to see enough lights and the work desk was comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and had a washing machine in it.
  
  There are plenty of options to eat nearby, a nice bar/restaurant next door. The metro is a 15 minute walk and takes you into Praque's main station.
