Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Historic Centre Apartments IV” on the booking site, I almost scrolled past thinking it was some generic chain trying too hard. But then I noticed that Smetanovo nábřeží address and thought, wait a minute, that’s right along the riverfront. And honestly? Best decision I made for that Prague trip.
The thing about this place is that it sits on one of those streets that actually matters – you’re literally looking out at the Vltava, and I mean properly looking at it, not just catching glimpses between buildings like most “river view” places claim. You can see the castle from some of the windows, which sounds touristy but is actually pretty magical when you’re having your morning coffee. The apartments themselves feel like someone’s stylish aunt converted her old building rather than some corporate renovation job – there’s character in the moldings and the way the light hits those tall windows, but everything works properly (the shower pressure is honestly better than my apartment back home). What really sold me was how quiet it gets at night despite being so central. I mean, you’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Old Town Square, but Smetanovo nábřeží doesn’t get the drunk tourist foot traffic that some of the other historic center streets deal with.
The neighborhood thing is what makes this spot work so well – you’ve got that whole stretch along the river for morning runs or evening walks, and there’s this little grocery store about two blocks away that I kept going back to because they had the good Czech bread and the guy behind the counter started recognizing me. You know what I really appreciated? The check-in process was refreshingly normal – no weird key pickup locations or confusing building codes, just straightforward instructions that actually matched reality. And parking – well, it’s Prague city center so don’t expect miracles, but there’s a garage about five minutes away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you stay there; it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but everything is thoughtfully done and maintained properly. I stayed in October when the weather was sort of unpredictable, and having a proper kitchen meant I could grab ingredients from the farmers market near Wenceslas Square and actually cook instead of eating restaurant food every meal. The heating worked well too, which isn’t always a given in these older buildings. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re living in Prague rather than just passing through, this place gets it right.

Rustic apartment within 100 meters of the St. Charles Bridge. Rooms are very comfortable. Easy access with a fun small elevator. Fantastic experience for the small ones traveling first time to Prague. Great for a family
What could be improved: Finding the office for check-in with a car was very difficult. GPS took us to a very narrow one-way street that required we back out. Maybe better instructions would make this part easier.Melody from Netherlands – 29 December 2024 (9/10)
Perfect location, cozy apartment.
What could be improved: Wish we had more pillows! We had 5 adults and 3 kids, and only 6 pillows.Wan from Macao – 21 October 2024 (8/10)

Incredible location, literally over the road from Charles Bridge and on a wonderfully serviced tram line
Marvellously spacious and charming older apartment
Comfortable beds
Useful kitchen
Insanely good value for money
Easy to access, simple checkin, in person, with a friendly host, (unlike frustrating and stressful automated processes that require human intervention most of the time)

The accommodation is in excellent location, just a few hundred meters from Charles bridge. It was on top floor (with lift) and was quiet. The rooms were large and beds comfortable. Would be great for 2 couples. The staff were helpful in lead up to staying there and there office easy to find to pick up the key. Would stay there again.
What could be improved: Get the shower head fixed to the wall, so you don’t have to hold it.Sasko from North Macedonia – 1 September 2023 (9/10)
Almost everything, especially location
What could be improved: Absence of basic things in the kitchen like salt and oil
