Hilton Prague Old Town Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Prague, and the Hilton Old Town actually surprised me – in a good way. When you first walk up to V Celnici 7, you’re basically steps away from the Powder Tower, which means you’re right in the thick of things without being stuck in the tourist chaos of Old Town Square itself. It’s one of those spots where you can slip out for a morning coffee run to the little café around the corner on Náměstí Republiky before the crowds even wake up.

The thing about this place is that it manages to feel genuinely luxurious without trying too hard. I mean, you walk into the lobby and there’s this understated elegance – marble and warm lighting, but not the kind that makes you feel like you need to whisper. The rooms are honestly what sold me though. They’ve got these massive windows (well, if you’re facing the right direction) and the beds are the kind where you actually sleep through the night, even with Prague’s trams rumbling by in the early morning. Speaking of which – yes, you’ll hear some street noise, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than anything jarring. The air conditioning works properly too, which you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case in European hotels, even fancy ones.

What really sets this place apart is how the staff actually knows Prague. The concierge pointed me toward this incredible little wine bar in Vinohrady that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I needed a pharmacy late one evening, they didn’t just give me directions – they called ahead to make sure it was still open. The breakfast is solid (nothing groundbreaking, but the coffee’s strong and there’s actually decent fruit), and honestly, the location just can’t be beat. You’re a five-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, maybe ten to the Astronomical Clock if you’re moving slowly, but you’re also close enough to the newer parts of the city that you don’t feel trapped in the tourist bubble. I found myself walking to dinner in different neighborhoods each night – Vinohrady one evening, across the river to Malá Strana another. The metro’s right there too, so getting to the castle or anywhere else is ridiculously easy. It’s the kind of place where you can store your luggage after checkout and wander around for hours before your flight, then come back to grab your stuff without feeling like you’re imposing. At an 8.5 rating, it’s earned every bit of it.

Reviews of Hilton Prague Old Town

  • Aisha from Kuwait – 24 December 2024 (9/10)

The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the city. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, and the room service was excellent. It’s truly one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Prague

  • Irina from South Africa – 1 April 2025 (9/10)

Loved the hotel , would have rated a 10, but the toilet paper was sub par.

  • Ester from South Africa – 6 March 2025 (8/10)

Location is wonderful. Clean comfortable rooms.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain about

  • Patricia from United Kingdom – 6 March 2025 (9/10)

Had an amazing stay. Staff were very helpful. Location was exceptional, near all sites.
Pool was a nice relaxation after walking.

  • Laura from United Kingdom – 4 March 2025 (7/10)

Really attentive staff, super breakfast, clean and smart hotel

What could be improved: The pool was FREEZING and very small with no shallow end. Our room was broken into somehow. Nothing was taken, but disturbing nevertheless.

  • David from United Kingdom – 3 March 2025 (8/10)

    good location, modern looking building

What could be improved: the toilet paper was like sand paper, and the pool was too small to swim in

  • Francesca from United Kingdom – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

Incredible would stay again couldn’t fault

  • Frances from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: The spa and gym should be a no children zone. Sadly the experience was really dampened by children making lots of noise, often not accompanied by parents if they were in the sauna etc.

  • Lisa from Australia – 22 February 2025 (9/10)

The bed was extremely comfy, the pillows were fluffy and I had a great night’s sleep. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the location was great in Old Town.

What could be improved: It was perfect

  • Arvind from India – 13 February 2025 (9/10)

Breakfast was nice. It would have been better if they could add more vegetarian or Indian breakfast
Location was just perfect in the old town.

What could be improved: Could have been more options in vegetarian breakfast.
