Hotel Description

So here’s the thing about Gregory House – it’s tucked away on Řehořova street in Žižkov, which honestly might be Prague’s most underrated neighborhood. I mean, everyone flocks to Old Town and gets stuck in tourist traps, but Žižkov? That’s where you actually get to see how Prague breathes.

The hotel itself is this converted townhouse that feels more like staying at your well-traveled aunt’s place than some sterile chain property. You know what I love about it? The breakfast room overlooks this little courtyard where locals walk their dogs in the morning, and you can hear the tram rumbling down the hill – but it’s not annoying, more like Prague’s gentle wake-up call. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place, nothing fancy but everything works. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the windows open properly, which is huge during those sticky summer nights when you want that cross-breeze flowing through.

What really sold me on this place is the location, though I realize that sounds cliche. But hear me out – you’re a five-minute walk from Jiřího z Poděbrad square, where there’s this fantastic farmers market on Saturdays and some of the best coffee shops that aren’t overrun with tour groups. The TV Tower is right there too (you can’t miss it, honestly), and while some people think it’s an eyesore, climbing up gives you views that’ll make your Instagram followers actually jealous. Plus, you’re close enough to the city center that a quick tram ride gets you anywhere, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with bachelor party groups stumbling around at 3 AM. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this little Vietnamese place around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals in Prague. Check-in was smooth, no drama, though parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (street parking only, and you’ll want to grab a spot early). The whole vibe is just… relaxed, I guess? Like they’re not trying too hard to impress you, they’re just doing their thing well, which after staying at places that are all flash and no substance, feels pretty refreshing.

Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.
