Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Grand Viceroy Apartments – Gothic Tower View on Jindřišská Street, you immediately know you’ve landed somewhere special. I mean, the address alone puts you right in the thick of Prague’s historic center — and honestly, that location score of 9.9 isn’t just marketing fluff. This four-star property sits in what locals actually consider the real heart of the city, not some tourist-trap version of it. The building itself has that classic Prague charm, and you can already glimpse why couples rate this place so highly for romantic getaways.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying on Jindřišská — you’re literally steps from Wenceslas Square, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant tourist chaos. The Gothic towers that give this place its name? They’re not some distant view you need binoculars for. You can actually see Prague’s stunning medieval architecture from your windows, which is pretty incredible when you think about it. The metro connections are right there, but honestly, you’ll probably end up walking everywhere because the Old Town Square is just a pleasant stroll away.

The Apartment Experience

What sets Grand Viceroy Apartments apart from typical hotels is the apartment-style setup — you get actual living space, not just a cramped room with two chairs. The kitchenettes are properly equipped (I’m talking real appliances, not those tiny hotel fridges), which is perfect if you want to grab fresh bread from the local bakeries and have a quiet breakfast while looking out at those Gothic spires. The decor strikes that sweet spot between modern comfort and respecting the historic character of the building.

The Gothic Tower Views

Let’s talk about those views, because they’re honestly the main event here. Depending on your specific apartment, you’ll get different angles of Prague’s famous Gothic architecture — some face the Jindřišská Tower directly, others give you broader cityscape views with multiple spires in the distance. Early morning is magical when the light hits those old stones, and evenings aren’t bad either when everything gets that golden glow. It’s the kind of view that makes you understand why Prague is called the “City of a Hundred Spires.”

Why Couples Love It

There’s something about this place that just works for romantic trips — maybe it’s the combination of having your own private space with those incredible views, or the fact that you can walk hand-in-hand to some of Europe’s most beautiful squares within minutes. The apartment setup means you can actually relax together without feeling like you’re living on top of each other in a tiny hotel room. Plus, being able to pick up wine and local treats to enjoy while watching the sunset over Gothic towers? That’s the kind of Prague experience that makes couples want to come back.

To book a hotel in Prague during the famous Easter Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.

What could be improved: Matratzen waren nicht so gut

Modern, clean, smartly furnished apartment that made great use of the space. Photos represent it well. Plenty of hot water & strong enough shower pressure. Comfy sofa bed. TV connected to streaming services like Netflix. Location was great - just a short walk to main areas of interest but thankfully apartment was on street away from crowds. We dined out (so didn't use the kitchen). We really enjoyed dinner in the gothic tower that you can see from the apartment. Host was very responsive and offered dining suggestions.

What could be improved: We found the stairs to the loft too steep, also with steps awkwardly slanted. Going up no problem - we climbed the stairs like a ladder. Coming down - challenging because no hand-rail on one side. With the toilet downstairs, we chose to sleep on the sofa bed to play it safe. We also were too tall for the loft - the smallest of us was 5'8" and we all had to duck our heads in the loft area. Lockbox to get key was located inside grocery store next to address given - took us a while to find the lockbox, but once we did, the instructions to get the key and enter the apartment were easy and clear.
