Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Prague hotels, and Golden Prague Rooms honestly surprised me in the best way. You know how sometimes a place just feels right the moment you walk in? That’s what happened here on Elišky Krásnohorské – which, by the way, is this quiet little street that most tourists completely miss even though you’re literally a five-minute walk from Old Town Square. I mean, you get all the convenience without the constant stream of tour groups marching past your window at 7 AM.

The thing about this place is that it actually feels like Prague, if that makes sense. The building has that classic Bohemian character – thick walls that keep things surprisingly quiet, high ceilings that make the rooms feel spacious, and these beautiful original details that somehow survived decades of… well, let’s just say Prague’s complicated history. The staff genuinely seems to care about what they’re doing, which you can’t always count on at four-star places. Check-in was smooth, and they had solid recommendations for dinner spots that weren’t tourist traps – always a good sign. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully updated. Clean lines, comfortable beds (seriously, I slept better than I expected), and everything actually works properly. You know how hotel WiFi is usually terrible? Not here. And there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to oversell itself with fancy marketing speak but just delivers on the basics really well.

What sealed it for me was the location intelligence, honestly. You’re close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square or catch a tram to the castle, but you’re tucked away on a street where locals actually live and work. There’s a great little café around the corner that serves proper Czech coffee, and you can grab groceries at the Tesco about two blocks away if you want to save money on breakfast. Parking can be tricky in this part of Prague – I mean, it’s tricky everywhere in the city center – but they’ll point you toward a decent garage nearby. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me because this isn’t trying to be the fanciest hotel in Prague, but it nails what business travelers and tourists actually need: comfort, location, and staff who know their city. If you’re the type who wants to experience Prague like someone who lives there rather than just checking famous sights off a list, Golden Prague Rooms gets it right.

  The location was perfect for exploring and walkable distances to everywhere we wanted to go. A short walk to the old town. The room was very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing was that the shower head was broken but we made do and informed the staff at check out.

  What could be improved: Had to request to fix the screws of the doorknob, and thankfully this was promptly addressed and fixed. Perhaps the system could use an overhaul to modernise the door locks.

  The location was perfect. Literally could walk everywhere so I saved a lot of money on taxis. The room did look nice and aesthetically pleasing. The price was cheap and it’s great value.
  
  What could be improved: Not a fan of showers that have corner doors as water just goes out of the shower and the floor gets wet. Also, just a very small thing but we had keys instead of key cards (3 of them for 3 different doors). I didn’t realise I had to use the key once I was inside to lock the door from inside so on my first night ended up sleeping with the door unlocked – I know that was my fault but I’m so used to keycards were the doors lock automatically. The towels felt very old too – no soft fluffy towels.

  Great location, lovely staff on arrival & throughout stay, clean and exactly as the pictures show.
  
  What could be improved: Can be noisy throughout the stay from the hallways / other travellers & outside noise. Radiator made quite a bit of noise when the heating started up

  The bed in this room was incredibly comfortable. The room was spacious and you were provided with a coffee machine and bottled water.
  The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels provided.
  
  What could be improved: The shower and sink stopped running water around 10am each day
  The coffee pods didn’t match the pictures so you didn’t know which ones you were drinking
