Gold Art Apartments Overview

You know what struck me first about Gold Art Apartments? The address – U Svatého Ducha translates to “At the Holy Spirit,” which honestly sounds way more dramatic than this quiet little street actually feels. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from Old Town Square, but somehow this narrow cobblestone lane stays refreshingly calm even when the main tourist areas are absolutely packed. The building itself has that classic Prague thing going on where the exterior looks properly historical (because it is), but then you step inside and it’s been thoughtfully updated without losing its character. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a kitchenette thrown in – have these gorgeous high ceilings and original details that make you feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

What I really appreciate is how they’ve managed the whole apartment-hotel balance. Each unit has a full kitchen that’s actually functional (I’m talking real cookware, not those sad hotel hotplates), which comes in handy when you want to grab fresh bread from the bakery around the corner on Celetná Street and have a proper breakfast before the crowds descend. The Wi-Fi is solid – I worked from there for a few days without any issues – and the soundproofing is surprisingly good considering you’re in a centuries-old building in the heart of the city. Though honestly, the street noise isn’t really a problem anyway since U Svatého Ducha doesn’t get much through traffic. The cleaning service is thorough without being intrusive, and the front desk staff actually know Prague well enough to give you directions that don’t involve tourist traps.

Here’s the thing that bumps this place up from good to genuinely great – the location knowledge pays off in ways you don’t expect. Sure, you can walk to Charles Bridge in about eight minutes, but more importantly, you’re close enough to duck back for a quick rest when your feet start complaining, then head out again for dinner. The little grocery store on Revoluční is just far enough that you’ll discover some lovely side streets on the way, and there’s this excellent wine bar (Champagneria) basically next door that locals actually frequent. I’d say book directly with them if you can – the rates are usually comparable to the big booking sites, and they’re more flexible about check-in times, which matters when you’re dealing with Prague’s unpredictable traffic from the airport. The 9-star rating isn’t just inflated booking site nonsense; this place genuinely delivers on making you feel settled rather than just housed for the night.

Reviews of Gold Art Apartments

  • Elizabeth from Mexico – 2 December 2024 (9/10)

    Everything was fantastic.
Location, unbeatable. Walking distance from the astronomical clock, the national museum and national theatre. Close to supermarkets, restaurants and stores.

It was very easy to check in, even though I arrived late at night. The building is beautiful and comfortable, elevator worked well. The apartment is spacious, cozy and clean. Bed was comfortable, bathroom really big, ND the kitchenette has everything you may need (glassware, cooking pots and electric kettle).
I would definitely stay here again!

What could be improved: Nothing, everything was great!

  • Alcides from Germany – 29 March 2025 (9/10)

Huge apartment, well decorated and functional. Amazing location in the city center, well connected to public transport. Balcony was small but usable. Supermarkets are nearby but due to the good transport connections, other larger supermarkets were within reach. Staff is super nice.

  • Savvoula from Greece – 22 March 2025 (9/10)

The location was perfect. Only 2-3’ from the astronomical clock! Clean and spacious. Great room

What could be improved: If I have to say something I would say the pillows, but overall it was a great experience.

  • Eleni from Greece – 21 March 2025 (9/10)

The guy in the reception was super duper helpful, the instructions for the check in were very clear and we found the room easily. The apartment was very very clean and it smelled so nice. The bed was the comfiest ! I loved the pillow, maybe the best pillow I have slept in no joke. The location is perfect. It’s 10-20 minutes to all great places and sightseeing. Also in the last day we checked out early in the morning and the guy at the reception gave us keys so we could put our luggage somewhere safely until we travel back to our country.

  • Avtandil from Georgia – 21 March 2025 (9/10)

Nearly everything was perfect! 🙂 It’s a fantastic place to stay in Prague.

What could be improved: Everything was great, but a shower curtain would have made the bath more comfortable, as it wasn’t very convenient without one.
