Friday Hotel

Prague, Czech Republic
Na Prikope 13, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the Friday Hotel on Na Prikope, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building blends right into that bustling shopping strip, and you know how touristy that whole area can get. But once you step inside, it’s actually a completely different world. The lobby has this really nice contemporary vibe without trying too hard to be trendy, if that makes sense. Clean lines, warm lighting, and the staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing during check-in (no fumbling around with the system like you get at some places).

What really got me was the location – I mean, you’re literally steps from Wenceslas Square, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: Na Prikope has this weird acoustic thing where it’s busy during the day but gets surprisingly quiet at night. So you get all the convenience of being in the absolute heart of Prague without the constant street noise keeping you up. The rooms themselves are well thought out, honestly. Nothing huge, but they use the space smartly, and the beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how many four-star places mess that up). The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, and there’s enough counter space for your stuff – small detail, but it matters when you’re living out of a suitcase.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – you can walk to basically everything worth seeing. Old Town Square is maybe eight minutes on foot, the Jewish Quarter is right there, and if you want to head up to the castle, the metro stop at Mustek is literally around the corner. But beyond the obvious tourist stuff, you’re also in this great spot for just wandering around like a local. There’s this little bakery on Havelska that does incredible pastries for breakfast (way better than hotel breakfast, to be honest), and the whole area has these hidden courtyards and passages that most visitors never find. The hotel concierge actually gave me some solid recommendations too – not just the usual Prague Castle spiel, but actual spots where locals hang out.

One thing to keep in mind: if you’re driving, parking in this area is… well, it’s Prague city center, so it’s going to be a challenge. But honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. The Friday Hotel sits right in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing the real Prague, not just hitting tourist checkboxes. It’s got that solid, reliable feel without being boring, and the staff clearly takes pride in the place. For what you’re paying at a four-star in this location, it delivers exactly what it promises – which sounds simple, but you’d be amazed how rare that actually is.

Loved the location- easy to get to by public transport and it's walking distance to all major attractions and shopping , spacious room, was clean, staff was friendly
and our room was ready early and they accommodated our requests

What could be improved: they're a little stingy on the toilet paper- we had to ask for more each day
