Falkensteiner Boutique Hotel Prague Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Prague hotels, and honestly? The Falkensteiner Boutique on Opletalova kind of caught me off guard. You know that stretch between Wenceslas Square and the main train station – it’s busy, sure, but not exactly where you’d expect to find something this polished. The building itself has this gorgeous Art Nouveau facade that you’d walk right past if you weren’t looking for it, which I actually love about the place. No giant neon signs or tourist traps trying to lure you in.

The lobby hits you with this warm, sophisticated vibe – sort of like stepping into a wealthy Prague resident’s home rather than a typical hotel. They’ve got this thing down where it feels boutique without being stuffy, if that makes sense. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, too, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the guy at the desk didn’t just point me toward a tourist restaurant – he gave me three options based on what I was in the mood for and told me exactly which tram to catch. The rooms are what you’d expect from a proper 5-star place, but with these little touches that show someone was actually thinking. Good blackout curtains (essential if you’re dealing with jet lag), rainfall shower that doesn’t lose pressure, and – this might sound weird – but the hangers in the closet are actually decent ones, not those flimsy things that drive you crazy.

What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night, despite being on a fairly busy street. You’re literally a 5-minute walk from all the Wenceslas Square action, but once you’re inside, it’s like the city noise just disappears. I mean, Prague can get pretty rowdy during peak season with all the bachelor parties and whatnot, so this is no small thing. The whole area around there is perfect for actually living like a local – there’s a great little market on Jindřišská where you can grab fresh stuff for breakfast, and you’re close enough to the New Town that you can explore beyond the castle-and-bridge circuit most tourists stick to. Parking’s handled through the hotel if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car for anything in this location. One tiny thing – the elevator’s a bit slow, but that’s pretty standard for these older Prague buildings, and it gives you time to appreciate the details they’ve put into the hallways.

Early hotels booking in Prague is essential during major events like the Prague Spring Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned classical music scene and Gothic architecture.

Reviews of Falkensteiner Boutique Hotel Prague

  • Iklemia from Italy – 8 August 2023 (9/10)

Staff was very friendly upon our arrival and helpful.
Style of the hotel and room was really nice and deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Jason from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (8/10)

Very comfortable stay..friendly staff and great for train station.

  • Sunil from India – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

Nice spread. Gluten free items are also available. A la carte had good choices. Overall a hearty breakfast

What could be improved: Milder coffee options were not available. Though the coffee was good, my wife prefers less strong coffee

  • Hershko from Israel – 25 March 2025 (9/10)

    Everything was perfect
    Wonderful breakfast
    Perfect location
    Excellent hospitality

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • דוד from Israel – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

Close to the train station, few minutes walking from Prague's best locations!
Really close to the river, Prague's old town, main high street, but not too close – so it is not a loud street (makes the nights really calm and relaxing)

What could be improved: Hands down, we enjoyed everything! not a bad word to say!

  • Lorine from France – 22 March 2025 (9/10)

One of the best spa space in town.
    Very clean and modern.
Room also spotless, with very good bedding.
Breakfast was more than excellent. One of the best breakfast in our travel experience. Fresh juice pressed in front of you. Many choices!

What could be improved: This is our 3rd time staying in this hotel booked via booking.com
Only thing to notice is although we were regular guests but the receptionist doesn’t seem to notice.
The check in and check out process was very robotic.
Which for me is very important to have a more personal guest experience and relation to make our stay even more enjoyable.
Otherwise, staffs are all polite and friendly

  • Ron from United Kingdom – 20 March 2025 (8/10)

Super location just across from Prague Railway station. Fantastic relaxing spa area in the basement

What could be improved: Had to change room due to dripping air con system which would have been japanese water torture had I not moved. It was addressed immediately by the very helpful and friendly staff

  • Muhammad from Pakistan – 19 March 2025 (9/10)

Staff is very good and helpful. Location is very good very near to Train station.

  • Estela from Switzerland – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Great location, beautiful and comfortable. The fitness center was also very nice and complete. We travelled with our dog and although there are high daily costs for it, the hotel provided bowls, a towel and a blanket for the dog, which we liked.

What could be improved: The temperature in the room was very high and there was nothing that could be done to bring it down. We had to leave the windows open all the time and even so it was 25° in the room, and noise from the street came in

  • Eli from Israel – 10 March 2025 (9/10)

    Everything was perfect! Great breakfast
