Fairmont Golden Prague Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Prague over the years, and the Fairmont Golden Prague is honestly one of those places that just gets everything right. It sits right on Parizska Street – and if you know Prague at all, you’ll know that’s prime real estate. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, walking distance from Old Town Square, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of tour groups at your doorstep.
The building itself is this gorgeous Art Nouveau masterpiece that actually used to be a department store back in the day, and they’ve done something really special with the renovation. The lobby has this soaring ceiling that makes you stop and look up – I always feel a bit underdressed when I walk in, even though the staff treats everyone like they belong there. What really impressed me though was how quiet my room was, considering you’re smack in the middle of everything. The windows are properly soundproofed, which is huge if you’re trying to sleep off jet lag while there’s nightlife happening just blocks away on Wenceslas Square.
The rooms themselves feel genuinely luxurious without being stuffy about it. Mine had these massive windows overlooking the street, and honestly, people-watching from up there is entertainment in itself – you’ll see everything from locals heading to work to tourists consulting their maps every few steps. The bathroom was one of those deep soaking tub situations that I actually used (which rarely happens), and the shower pressure was spot-on. Little things matter when you’re travel-tired, you know? Speaking of little things – they’ve got this turndown service that includes local chocolates, not just generic mints, which feels thoughtful rather than just going through the motions. The concierge team actually knows their stuff too; when I asked about getting to Vyšehrad Castle without dealing with tourist crowds, they gave me specific tram times and a route that locals use. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you hope for but don’t always get. Check-in was smooth even though I arrived early, and they stored my luggage without any fuss while I wandered around Josefov. If you’re planning to visit during summer, book well ahead – Prague gets absolutely packed, and this place fills up fast. But honestly, if you’re going to splurge anywhere in the city, this is where I’d do it.

Reviews of Fairmont Golden Prague
Finally, a 5* hotel worth 10 points; superb location; marvelous views; beautiful room; kind-hearted – Marko from Slovakia – 14 July 2025 (10/10)
We have visited quite a few 5* hotels both in the Czech Republic and in Europe, but, ladies and gentlemen, this is THE one:
– absolutely gorgeous staff from the very beginning to the end – bellmen, receptionists, waiters, concierge – all of them smiling, polite, kind and helpful
– our stay was a surprise gift for my boyfriend for his birthday, and Royal Service did all they could to make it unforgettable, providing us with a complimentary bottle of champagne (real champagne, not Bohemia sekt like in some other "5-stars" hotels), tasty cake, a personalized note, cute baloons and even photos in frames
– our room 712 was simply perfect – with all the stylish and luxurious details and finishings you can imagine and beautiful views of the Vltava river and Faculty of Law. Super huge (offering both bathtub and walk-in shower) bathroom with Le Labo cosmetics. The bed was very comfortable.
– beautiful premises of the hotel, breathing with style and luxury – be it the lobby, Golden Lounge, elevators, restaurants, bars, spa & wellness area, gym, or even such "unimportant" places like the corridors.
– when we were checking out (very sad that our experience is coming to an end), a super kind lady (I think she was the manager) said: "Would you like to stay with us a couple more hours?". Indeed, we received a complimentary late checkout, allowing us to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer for four more hours. Out of this world.
– we had access to the Golden Lounge – this is a gem even for such a beautiful hotel – we loved everything – relaxing, warming, cozy atmosphere, super kind staff, marvelous canapés and choice of books to read
– Golden Eye bar offered us stunning views of night Prague, professional staff (the door lady addressing you by your surname when you come back from the restroom), stylish and savory drinks as well as tasty banh mi sandwiches.
What could be improved: I have to continue here as I have reached the limit of characters for the "PROS" part haha:
– we loved the spa with the very unique indoor/outdoor pool and outdoor whirlpool as well as a beautiful garden; special shout out to perhaps the most beautiful changing rooms/showers area I've ever seen; we also very much enjoyed modern gym with very decent choice of high-quality Technogym equipment
Now just a few VERY minor issues which I honestly mention only because I know they would like to hear how to provide even better services:
– while we truly enjoyed the ambiance of the Greenhouse restaurant as well as the food (try kulajda!), we waited for it a bit longer than we expected;
– water temperature in the shower sometimes changed rapidly within a few seconds (e.g. from pleasantly hot to very cold) – this issue seemed to stop after a few "tries" so it is not a big deal;
– we were not able to quite figure out the lockers system in SPA changing rooms, however very kind lady from housekeeping staff showed us what to do
– for some reason, there are not toilet brushes in the hotel – not in the restaurants/bar nor in the roomThank you for your service and kindness – Noor from Qatar – 16 June 2025 (10/10)
Everything
Passable – Georgii from Spain – 5 July 2025 (5/10)
New building.
What could be improved: The staff is unprofessional, constantly forgets orders, and there are repeated issues with card payments. Even basic menu items like ‘fresh cutters’ are unfamiliar to the restaurant team. Breakfast ahould be better at 5 stars.اقامه ملكيه – Hamda from Qatar – 19 July 2025 (10/10)

Krásný výhled z pokoje, velmi dobře se spalo. Gastro vynikající. Kombinace moderních materiálů a barev s dobovými obklady nebo lustry.
