Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Exe City Park Hotel on Opletalova Street, you immediately get that “I’m right in the thick of things” feeling. This three-star property sits perfectly in the heart of Prague, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building has that classic Central European charm — nothing flashy, but solid and welcoming in a way that makes you feel like you’ve found a genuine local spot rather than some touristy chain.

Location Magic

Here’s what I love about this area — you’re literally steps away from Wenceslas Square, which means you can stumble back to your room after exploring Prague’s incredible nightlife without dealing with trams or taxis. The main train station is practically around the corner, which saved me so much hassle when I arrived with heavy luggage. You know what’s really nice? Couples seem to absolutely adore this spot — they consistently rate the location 9.6 out of 10, and I can see why. There’s something romantic about being able to walk to Old Town Square for sunrise photos without the crowds.

The Room Experience

The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star hotel — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed without any unnecessary frills. I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or designer furniture, but everything works perfectly and the beds are genuinely comfortable. The windows are well-insulated too, which matters more than you’d think given how lively this neighborhood can get. What impressed me most was the attention to small details — good lighting for reading, plenty of outlets, and blackout curtains that actually block out the light.

Breakfast and Amenities

The breakfast setup here is actually quite impressive for a three-star place. They offer continental, American, and buffet options, so whether you want a quick coffee and pastry or a full spread to fuel a day of sightseeing, you’re covered. The buffet has a nice mix of local Czech items and international favorites — I particularly enjoyed trying some traditional pastries I hadn’t seen elsewhere. There’s also private parking available at the hotel, which is honestly a godsend in Prague’s city center where finding a spot can be a nightmare.

Why Guests Love It

With an 8.8 rating, this place clearly gets the fundamentals right. It’s that sweet spot where you get excellent value without sacrificing the things that actually matter — location, cleanliness, and genuine hospitality. The staff seems to understand that most guests are here to explore Prague, not hang out in the hotel, so they focus on making your base comfortable and your access to the city seamless. For couples especially, there’s something perfect about having a cozy, reliable place to return to after days spent wandering cobblestone streets and evenings enjoying Czech beer in local pubs.
