Emperor Castle View Suite Overview
Honestly, when I first climbed up to the first floor at 2 Náprstkova, I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow staircase – but wow, the Emperor Castle View Suite really delivers on that name. You know what hits you first? The actual castle view isn’t just some tiny sliver you have to crane your neck to see. From the main windows, you’re looking straight across at Prague Castle like it’s posing just for you, especially gorgeous around sunset when the whole complex glows golden against the sky.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually – you’re tucked into this quiet corner of Malá Strana where the tourists haven’t quite figured out to wander yet, but you’re literally a three-minute walk from Charles Bridge. I mean, you can hear the distant hum of crowds during peak summer days, but it’s never intrusive. The building itself has that authentic old Prague feel (creaky floors and all), though they’ve clearly put money into updating the suite itself. The bathroom’s surprisingly modern, and thank god for that because some of these historic places… well, let’s just say the plumbing can be an adventure. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that hunting around for building numbers that Prague is famous for.
What I really appreciated were the small touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The kitchen area isn’t huge, but it’s functional enough to handle more than just coffee, which comes in handy when you want to grab pastries from that little bakery on Kampa Island and have a proper breakfast with that castle view. The whole space feels lived-in rather than sterile – comfortable furniture you’d actually want to relax in after walking Prague’s cobblestones all day. Parking’s going to be a challenge (it’s Prague, after all), but honestly, you won’t need a car from here anyway. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but everything works well and the location alone makes it worth the splurge. That 8.6 rating makes sense too; it’s the kind of place that exceeds expectations without any major flaws to complain about.

The location is fabulous…right by the Charles Bridge. Apartment nicely decorated, warm and comfortable.
What could be improved: The lay out is strange…no seating area (other than the sofabed in bedroom 2)….and access to bedroom 1 is through bedroom 2! To exit the apartment block two doors have to be opened with a KEY…dangerous if there were a fire.Peter from United Kingdom – 24 January 2025 (9/10)
Comfortable- great location

Great view, location and design. The interior matches the photos and the inside is incredibly clean and cool. We got exactly what we wanted.
What could be improved: We had a little trouble switching the shower mode, but plumbing can break sometimes and I think this will be fixed soon. Unfortunately during our trip we experienced a rather unpleasant smell of sewage in the bathroom, but this often happens in old houses due to old pipes, not sure if the host can do anything about it.Lucy from United Kingdom – 13 October 2024 (9/10)
The location was fantastic. The decor was gorgeous, really happy with it. And the view from the rear bedroom was incredible, the river and the castle!
What could be improved: I guess really the access blew my mind a bit, there were so many welcome emails etc from Booking that it was becoming overwhelming. We then were given a code, which was find but when we got there the main door didn’t have a numbered keypad. We then needed to text for a lockbox code. All fine in the end but a bit of a faff. I prefer a hotel concierge but you’d never get this location and space in a hotel and for this price.Brittany from United States – 12 October 2024 (9/10)
Fantastic location. Near everything but on a quieter street so noise at night was minimal. Loved having a kitchen and a washer. Owner/property manager was very nice and quick to respond when we had trouble getting the keys.
What could be improved: Floors were squeaky so if you had to get up in the night to use the restroom or woke up before everyone else and wanted to go to the kitchen, there was no way to be quiet about it and not wake anyone else up.Dimitri from United Kingdom – 10 June 2024 (9/10)
The apartment is in a quirky courtyard setting, very quiet and comfortable. It has been beautifully renovated, the views out of the main bedroom windows are great and the location is exceptional: a 50m stroll from the river, about the same to the tram stops, a short walk to the metro and Charles Bridge and within walking distance of all the Old Town attractions as well as bars, cafés, restaurants and other amenities.
What could be improved: The second bedroom is also the living room and occupants of the main bedroom have to walk through this second room to get anywhere in the apartment. The sympathetic renovation did not allow for any clothes storage, so we had to live out of our suitcases. However, none of that mattered given the quality and location of the accommodation!Melissa from United States – 4 May 2023 (9/10)
Best location for visiting Prague!!! We walked everywhere.
Jaclyn from Australia – 3 January 2023 (9/10)
location was extraordinary. Decor was eclectic & sumptuous.
What could be improved: people in the main bedroom had to walk through the second bedroom to access the bathroom.Raphy from Israel – 25 August 2022 (9/10)
Excellent location, a few minutes from the Charles Bridge, a modern and quiet apartment, nicely equipped and spacious, communication with the landlord is very easy and the entrance to the house is smooth
What could be improved: The only minus was that there were hairs on the sheets of one of the beds
