Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about this place? The name is honestly a bit much – “Elegant & Stylish Center Apartments!” feels like someone got a little excited with the exclamation point – but once you’re actually standing on U Půjčovny street, you get it. This narrow cobblestone street sits right in the heart of Prague 1, and I mean *right* in the heart. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Old Town Square, which sounds too good to be true until you realize that yes, you’ll hear the astronomical clock’s hourly chimes from your window (charming during the day, less so at 2 AM if you’re a light sleeper).

The building itself has that classic Prague thing going on – beautiful historic facade that probably hasn’t changed much since the 1800s, but step inside and it’s been completely modernized without losing the character. The apartments actually feel like apartments, not hotel rooms pretending to be something else. I stayed in a one-bedroom unit that had this gorgeous original hardwood flooring that creaked just enough to remind you where you are, plus a kitchen that’s small but totally functional if you want to grab groceries from the Tesco down on Národní street instead of eating out every meal. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious – honestly, bigger than what I have at home – with one of those rain showerheads that makes you want to stay in there forever.

What really sets this place apart though is how it sits in the neighborhood. U Půjčovny is this quiet little street that most tourists walk right past, but locals use it as a shortcut between the main areas. So you get the best of both worlds – you’re close enough to everything that you can stumble back from a night out in Wenceslas Square without breaking the bank on a taxi, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep. The 8.8 rating makes total sense when you factor in that it’s essentially a local’s location with visitor-friendly amenities. Check-in was smooth (they have a proper reception area, not one of those sketchy key-pickup situations), and the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to recommend this little wine bar called Hemingway that I never would have found otherwise. The only minor gripe I had was that the Wi-Fi got a bit spotty during peak hours, but honestly, when you’re this close to everything Prague has to offer, you probably shouldn’t be spending much time online anyway.

  The apartment was a great location for us, very near to the main railway and metro station. Also well within walking distance to most of Prague's visitor attractions, 10 minutes to the clock and 20 to Charles bridge. Initially the host was going to meet us to check in, but then was not able to, but sent very clear instructions with photos of how to pick up the keys from a lock box 30 seconds away from the main door, very easy.
  The apartment was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. The bed is large and comfortable, aircon is provided and was easy to control via the remote. The area was quiet and we were not disturbed by any noise at all.
  There is large TV that has the options to log into Netflix/Prime etc which we used to watch a film one evening.
  There are plenty of places to eat out or there is a LIDL nearby that has everything for the self catering option. The kitchen is well equipped, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer, crockery & cutlery etc.
  
  What could be improved: The towels are very small, even with 2 per person it was only just enough to get dry.

  Perfect location for catching an early train. The host was very responsive to our request to check in early. The apartment was clean, well air conditioned and stocked.

  Super spacious apartment, perfect for 3 adults. Liked how there was a separate dining area. Location was great too and within walking distance of the central train station.
  
  What could be improved: Check in was a bit clunky – was told someone was coming to meet me but last minute change to them sending me a bunch of photos and instructions to retrieve the keys. Didn't offer free bag storage after check out.

  Quick check-in and a very nice host who waited for us on site because our train was an hour late. He answered all our questions, and it was also super nice to have a welcome treat on the table in the form of a local sweet. The apartment is in a quiet place and within walking distance from the center and the train station. Clean, cozy and warm, everything necessary was provided. Thank you very much!
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, the bed linen was stale and there was a strange smell that did not disappear even after airing the apartment several times.(((

  Ottima posizione dal centro. In 5-10 minuti a piedi e gia' si era in prossimita' di monumenti e attrazioni. Zona tranquilla, non rumorosa e nelle vicinanze trovavi supermercati (Lidl), pasticcerie per la colazione e trattorie.
  Le foto del sito corrispondono esattamente a quello che si trova nell'appartamento.
  L'host e' stata gentilissima nell'accoglienza ed esaustiva nelle nostre richieste. Massima disponibilita'.
  
  What could be improved: Macchinetta del caffe' non adatta per le abitudibi degli italiani. Solo caffe' americano. Ma non si puo' considerare una pecca.
  Lavello del bagno piccolino ma funzionale.
